FIDE will form a commission to investigate the scandal between Carlsen and Niemann
The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has issued a statement on the launch of an investigation into the possible fraud of 19-year-old American chess player Hans Niemann in a game with Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.
“Following the recent developments in the Carlsen—Niemann controversy, the FIDE Fair Play Commission (FPL) to act ex-officio and create an Investigatory Panel (IP)”,- FIDE said in a statement. — Three members of the Commission will form this panel, and it will also have the possibility to call for a consultation with external experts wherever analysis is required. The focus of the investigation would be twofold: checking the World Champion’s claims of alleged cheating by Niemann and Niemann’s self-statement regarding online cheating.”
Salomeja Zaksaite was announced as the chairman of the commission.
Is there any conclusion?
