Roger Federer loves chess

Ivan Ljubicic, coach of the winner of 20 Grand Slam titles Roger Federer, spoke about the Swiss’s passion.

“Roger likes to play fast chess to kill time and distract himself. I know more about his hobby, but I won’t tell you. He wouldn’t like it if I talked about it. He began to get involved in chess, as if he was hooked, seeing with what fanaticism I treat it. Roger knew the basic rules, and to be honest, I don’t know if he is still studying chess or not, because we have spent a little time together for 14 months since he underwent surgery, but yes, he also follows the games of grandmasters and loves chess,” – Ljubicic said.

The famous athlete ended his career this year after performing at the Laver Cup exhibition tournament, which was held in London at the end of September.

The Swiss has 20 wins at Grand Slam tournaments, 103 wins at ATP singles tournaments, two medals won at the Olympic Games — gold in doubles and silver in singles. Federer spent 310 weeks in the status of the 1st racket of the world. He is one of the highest paid athletes in the history of world sports.
