Arkady Dvorkovich spoke about the problem of cheating in chess
FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich spoke about cheating in chess.
“Cheating is really a problem. First of all, it concerns online, but there have been cases at the blackboard. We are seriously fighting it.”
He also spoke about the investigation into the American grandmaster Hans Niemann. Earlier, world champion Magnus Carlsen starred in the Sinquefield Cup after losing to Niemann, and then refused to play with him in an online tournament, simultaneously touching on the problem of cheating.
“We have an independent group that is conducting an investigation, it works absolutely independently, we do not put pressure on it in any way. I never accuse anyone in advance, but Niemann himself admitted to cheating online.
These were confirmed cases. As for the unconfirmed ones, I can’t say anything yet,” – Dvorkovich added.
