Levon Aronian gave a great interview

American grandmaster Levon Aronian became the hero of the “C-Squared Podcast” podcast, in which he spoke about changes in chess and his game.

“My main problem as a player is that I’ve never understood how to use my time! I can play very fast, and I can get into time pressure. I never managed to learn how to manage my time properly. When I started, I played games with postponement for two years, then we got two hours for forty moves plus one hour, and now the control is shortening and shortening. It’s maddening.”

“The game has changed, it has become less deep. We have forgotten how to play deep chess. I forgot how to do it myself. There is so much blitz and rapid now that the skill of prolonged concentration is lost,” – Aronian said.”
