Magnus Carlsen commented on his victory at the Rapid World Championship

The current world chess champion Magnus Carlsen today won the World Rapid Chess Championship for the fourth time in his career. The Norwegian grandmaster expressed his joy that after the only defeat in the tournament from Vladislav Artemiev, he gathered and brought the tournament to a final victory.

“I’m incredibly pleased. If I hadn’t lost to Artemiev, it wouldn’t have been so exciting. This victory means a lot. Last time I came home empty-handed, and I didn’t want to repeat it. The upcoming blitz after that is, in fact, just a bonus. I am incredibly happy and pleased that I managed to pull myself together after the game with Artemiev,” – Carlsen said.

The World Blitz Championship will start tomorrow in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
