Svidler: no doubt about cheating Niemann online

In an interview with championat.com, Peter Svidler shared his opinion about Hans Niemann.

Chess.com’s investigation looks convincing. I am satisfied with everything that is collected in their analysis. As for Niemann’s cheating, there are no doubts about cheating online – the intrigue remained only in the question of his play over the board. Unfortunately, the Chess.com report does not provide a definitive answer to this question.

I would like online cheating to be taken and punished much more seriously than it is at the moment. Although I’m not sure that the majority has such a position, given that even major chess functionaries claimed that this was a “grey area”
