Julius Baer Generation Cup

The seventh stage of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour online series begins today, in which will play Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Boris Gelfand (Israel), Vasyl Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Anish Giri (Netherlands), David Navara (Czech Republic), Vincent Keymer (Germany), Ivan Saric (Croatia), Le Quang Liem (Vietnam), Jan-Krzysztof Duda and Radoslaw Wojtaszek (both Poland), Levon Aronian, Hans Niemann, Christopher Yoo (all USA), R Praggnanandhaa , B Adhiban, Arjun Erigaisi (all India).

Prize fund: $150,000.

Tournament format: 16 players will play a round-robin tournament, then the 8 strongest chess players will advance to the playoffs, where they will play four-game matches according to the knockout system (two matches in the final).
