1:51 I SWEAR You sound like this person in the chess app who gives lessons I SWEAR!!

Listen To Me Rant About Useless Crap says:

I have won a few tournaments and this is still a valuable lesson for me

I loved this video. Tier zoo was thinking just like I do which made the lesson practically tailored to my weaknesses. You got a subscriber with notifications

Wasnt 10. Qf7 better? When the knight was attacking the queen and forking the king and rook? It threatens a mate in 1. but Qd1 could be better too

20 mins in the video and i already learned a lot of things

I am rated way lower than this guy, but i quickly saw all the moves, I didnt catch that the bishop black had was defended by the knight, and i also blundered thinking "Take with the lesser piexe" rather than that queen trade earlier in the video, but I have been doing puzzles daily, reading books CONSTANTLY.! Silman, Fischer, karpov, Capablanca, and others, I happen to like descriptive notation better than algebraic. Not sure why, but Rook from QB1-QB7 is more intuitive in some way.

I have decided that I must become a GM by age 36 or I am killing myself. I love chess.

12 years to become a GM. Or at least IM. Wish me luck, because I am not looking forward to the failure and suicide part.

The gms locally are pricks and charge a lot for lessons. I want an apprenticeship. That should be a thing

Hey found this video very helpful!! Thank you!

Not only a great teacher, but in fact i found TierZoo a great student, asking all the questions i wanted answered. Great vid!!

Excellent thinking construction through discussions. Thank you for helping us learning chess this way

Wow imagine being an international master and losing to one of your students… Just wow…

At 34:20 would knight to b5 and pawn to b5 be better so you can setup the check with the queen to b7 then king to d8 or e8 then queen to c7 or mate with rook to e1.

My question is i need like 10 seconds minimum to think what's the next move so how the fck does someone played 1 minute chess?

The mere run unquestionably check because juice ironically tap among a hot huge almanac. shallow, tense hall

I always scan the pieces thinking about DAMP
is there a D(defense problem – does (s)he guard all pieces at same time? is it free material?)
is there an A(alignment problem – is he pinned? if i move one of my pieces (s)he will be in dangerous because an A problem?)
is there a M(mobility problem – can imove something that will make an unscapeble atack? not only checkmate)
is there a P(promotion problem – do i have a passed pawn? can i create one?)

i have a LOT to learn, but just using this method i went from 600 rating to 1100 in 2 months

This video alone boosted my rating by 50 in half an hour lol

I think the video will be like the power level of chess pieces!

Love this video! I felt like I benefited a lot because I was thinking very similar moves to what he was. Plus your teaching style really is what made it for me. Keep up the good work!

@23:07 If I would have been in his place I would have definately captured the knight on d4 with queen
I believe the best move would have have been pawn takes queen on d4
Then the killer knight to e4 forking king and queen

At 26:51, I would have done knight d5. Is that a good move or bad move?

10 minutes into the video and i have to move backward again to actually see the white's move :v

I just love the way you teach stuff! You're patient, you listen, you use positive reinforcement, you make chess fun and that's amazing!! Cheers to you, Levi!

I just got into chess sunday, I took a screen shot at

37:08 on my phone and drew my lines on how Id approach it. I also did Bg7 Bg7 Qg7, but I responded as the opponent at first with what you did with Rg8. But in my opinion the stronger move was Qg8 instead because it forces white Q to move either Qh6 or Qg3. What a cool game! Im really interested to see how this resolves.

nice.. you're a genuine guy.. really appreciate u unblocking us.. love from indonesia.. ❤️

You look really really similar to my Psychology teacher in Highschool

36:26 Would nc5 be a reasonable move? even if the opponent doesn't take it using their pawn? Because if they take, the c file will be open and I can go rc1

maybe i am dumb, or maybe you guys missed it but why not after 25:00 why did not consider knight to d5 attacks queen i get the queen can just move but you guys never even mentioned it im just curious

The most important rule to remember is there are no consistent rules to follow in chess, everything is based on the material conditions on the board, if there were only one guiding principle the game wouldn't be as magical as it really is.
