12-Year-Old Chess Prodigy Thought I’d Be Easy…

Whilst in New York City I played 12-year-old chess master Tani, who has beaten people such as Hikaru, Gothamchess and Botez. He is a Fide Master right now but has the strength of a much higher rated player. Read about Tani’s story here: Hope you enjoy this video!

I suck but I kept seeing her bar go up and she kept making weird moves after that, they would work with a scrub like me but not with this kid.

Nice to see this young boy interested in Chess versus video games.

I love his confidence and enthusiasm. Good to see.

@6:55 Anna could've gone queen to G4, and Tani probably would've moved his pawn to E2 or something. Then Anna could've gone Knight to E7 for the win.

I really like how both players were very vocal with the moves they were thinking about and doing, helps a viewer like me who doesn't really know much about chess, but enjoys the content.

I've heard "tactics" before but don't know what it means, also what is compensation…if anyone wants to explain

6:16 Translation: "Ohh, you moved the queen there and messed up my plan. Hmmmmmmmmmmm"

Why didn't you want to shake the kid's hand like you do your other opponents? 🤔

This kid has a phenomenal attitude..
Whomever raised him, I applaud you

It's so encouraging to see things like this on line. Not so much because it's an interesting chess game, which it is. But because it's great to see a couple of young people engaging in something which is challenging their mental acuity. And approaching a competitive activity with such comity.

The reason the white bar went up on 2:41 is becuz after knight takes pawn forking queen and bishop, the queen only has A5 and the black bishop is trapped after A3.

when you are watching and arround the 5 minute mark realise there is actualy a 2d board in the middle lol

    @1:55 f4 is a nice trap for Qh4 check 😮 Cause after g3, Knight takes g3, Qf2 !

I can't brag on competing with a 12-year old in anything.

Wow have to re-evaluate what I was planning for the day. 🙂

I know absolutely nothing about chess but I've watched a few of her videos and there is such a level of respect for the person across the board. HIGHLY competitive but VERY respectful. Well done

What a great young man! I see much success in his future!

Wow. That attack for White was really tempting.

    Pigging loved that!

( had to stop and pause everything for several minutes before each move, made mistakes, then saw your moves (Anna or Tani), sat and thought about them for far too long …. understood, maybe, thought I knew better, failed – I didn't. This video is waaaaaaay above my pay grade but very enjoyable all the same )

I’m so terrible at this game, I’m not even qualified to watch this video 🫣

is no one gonna talk about the awkward hand shake at the end lol

Free pon when time was 7:00🤙🤙🤙🌻🌻🌻☯️☯️☯️

This woman is very sexy…her intellect and down-to-earth, fun, and smile makes her highly desirable

I like this girl. She is always herself with who ever she plays. Always polite and fun. But I didn't like not shaking hands thing.

So cool to see you, Anna, smoke these old school awesome players that have been doing this for years, and then lose to a 12yr old. Young brains are sharp!

This was fun to watch. They had fun and appreciated each others game. I don’t know a thing about chess, but I enjoyed this immensely

This dumb hoe is basically a chess themed OF model

This kid -"I think opening are extremely important ya know."

    Magnus – "pish posh" lol

    This kid is really good

Why the hell did I watch that if you didn't beat him.

Reminds me of the kid from the movie Fresh. Good movie, btw.

noticed that you always spend too much time in the middle of the game on unnecessary conversations and thinking too long

Very Nice game between 2 very nice people
