This is what I have been looking for! A GM playing the game and describing it while he does in simple terms. Thanks!!

In todays modern world and all of its foolishness to consistently encourage you to cross people, sometimes the most difficult decision in life can be deciding whether or not you want to live in it. (Let that thought sink)

You should do a video of you actually "cheesing" players with next level tactics 🔥🔥 — everyone vote this up so he can see it

Why does the board in the thumbnail go "E..F..H..G"?

If your stepdad plays 10 hours daily and you consider that maniac level. how many hours do you do daily?

I gotta ask, what happened to Hikaru's hair? He looks 18 lmfao

Hikaru, how do I watch these live streams?! ♟️

I'm hesitating to watch this. Will it be at seemingly 2.5x speed and full of arrows??

This was fantastic. Am normally not a viewer because from what I've seen the focus is normally not on education. This was top notch super educational.

The G and the H are switched in the thumbnail.

I really like this kind of content it's very relaxing and educational. I really learned a lot definitely worth subscribing.

Nice video! Thank you for the lesson, Hikaru!

If Chess is the Game of Kings then does that mean Magnus Carlson is King of the world since he is the current World Champion?

What would be a better name for the Game of Kings than Chess? Like S.W.A.T (Special Weapons And Tactics. “Wannabe play Chess? What’s Chess? It’s a two player game played on a checker board. So you wanna play Checkers?

Hikaru, you recommended a book @49:11. Please can you restate it bcos i could not get it even after rewinding. Guess you speak too fast 😩😩😂😂. Anyone pls.

What a time to be alive! Getting chess lessons from one of the greatest players in history!

people complaining about the video being slow don't even have the time to learn from one of the best players of all time

Absolutely loved this video. Felt like it was right at my skill level.

Arguably one of the best videos Hikaru has put out. There’s a lot of beginners concepts that are explained perfectly.

As an older, newer player (Feb of this year), this has put a ton of theory into perspective.

I swear he's not thinking forward from a position. He just thinks backwards from the mate in 27 he found instantly.

These are really good lessons. While I am not a complete beginner, ideas like pawn to e4 and not using hyper modern openings until one has the skills are lessons I needed to learn. Thanks.

3rd match went all in with the cow opening and got obliterated… Ana that one is on you lol

Really appreciate the explanations because GM Hikaru is so concrete! Been plagued by the usual generic “opening principles” riddled with exceptions like Swiss cheese.
Grateful for this & would love to see more🙏

I wonder whether or not Hikaru is just a fantastic teacher and able to vocalize the finer points of positions and moves in ways that even most GMs cant. I get the feeling sometimes that alot of active GMs just don't teach others like this because they don't want more competition. Ive noticed most GMs that will lecture and give good insight to students are always typically older or retired from top end competitive chess. And that would be fair enough, this is their livelihoods and while playing they dont want to create more competition in a sport that is underfunded. Which makes me want to ask Hikaru if he thinks some GMs dislike him teaching so much while streaming because hes definitely the best I've ever seen. Finegold is fun to watch analyze games but nobody teaches and plays at the same time like Hikaru!

Amazing video! Amazing playlist!! Where can I find the playlist?

We need more such videos where u teach us professor Hikaru

Is it me the only one who noticed that at 6:53 he took a pawn when they were parallel to each other?

IQ of 102? I don’t think so. Why do you think that? Hate to break it to you but you’re obviously higher than that.

Thank you for making this! I learned so much that I subscribed just for more of these!

anyone notice the thumbnail, the letters G and H are swapped

I tend to be my own barber except maybe two or three times a year. Long hair is great; you should give it a try.

at 6:53 how does he take the pawn like that when there isnt a pawn there to attack??
