When they push your horses with the flank pawns call it the cow crab variation!
The one with the h4 and a4 (or h5 and a5) should be called The Horny Variation.

Very nice opening, but I remember it as the "Anna kick ass open". Much thanks from Oregon.
Just won two games in a row with it. As a beginner level player I love that it feels stable, develops the knights and it playable white OR black.
My losses often come from early opening mistakes, and I really like this!

Assuming Swedish is your main language, you should call it the Ko opening.
This checks out. Was able to defeat Martin with the cow opening and after 6 moves each the engine had me behind.
I tried the COW against the engine, and lost because of blunders but this is what it said: You had a pretty competitive game there. The opening was balanced. Your opponent found some nice moves in the middlegame.
I have variations called "Cow eat the grass variation", "Tiger ate my Cow variation", "Naughty Cow variation", "Everest Bull variation", and I am still searching for more.
Edit: I played the cow my friend played "The Butcher" he slaughtered the cow.
the crazycow variation?
Could you make a scotch gambit inspired variation and call it the highland variation? Because highland cows are amazing.
The moo variation
Suggestion for a variation name : The Escape Variation. When the cow escapes the farm (because it does not want to be turned into a steak).
Also, now your opening is not very known but maybe very soon someone will find a line that destroys it!
It's also a bit like the Van't Kruijs opening
I tried it once and won with a checkmate.
no offence but this opening is really bad i know is content but watafac? spending 10 tempi to move those horrible knights and give the center to black ?
I just played once doing the same as black and owned!! "Cramling's defense" (I think it's prettier than "cow's defense". worked very well against a 1650 player.

This will sound crazy for some crazy people but let's go: Bulls have horns, oxes have horns, cows do not have horns. You may milk a cow because it has breasts, you cannot milk a bull or a ox because it's male, it does not have breasts.

– Cow opening, BS Gambit
– King's semi-cow attack / Queen's semi-cow defense
– Cow's cheese trap
– Cow-abunga
