For a guy who doesn't need a board not knowing pieces is small handicap

This isn't blindfold chess. It's is advertfold chess. One person should get tilted so hard and slam the pieces so we get an idea how durable they are.

I did this before where we used pieces as pawns and pawns as pieces. This is easier because you aren't visually misled

I dont get what the challenge is. Bro can beat GMs while blindfolded. Literally

After Magnus Qc2 why not bishop to h8 threatening mate on g7?

I love how Magnus is slowly moving and the other guy is rushing everything trying to hit the timer 😂

The guy in background at 08:15 will be sacked by Magnus or Airthings exec for using mobile while game live. Bye bye

Howell was winning this and then made one slip

The clock is way too far from the board.

    this was amazing to watch!
Magnus is taller than David, right?
    This is a huge advantage..

Btw, I love how calmly Magnus was and David was so excited to push to clock hehe nice video

Not only we can't identify any pieces. We also have to run to press a clock. This is tough.

Magnus opponent is quite good. He should play chess more 🙂

Do you think you could take on the Airthings Challenge?

This makes a lot more sense than chess boxing.

Phi, that was easy. But if they've played it from random 960chess position, i would be very very impressed 😉

To be fair these guys could probably play blindfolded soooo…

Wow, Checkers is a lot more complicated than I remember.

im only watching and im out of breath already

Honestly feel like Magnus being in pretty good shape ended up being a bigger advantage than being a super GM

he can play blindfolded chess easily so this wont be a challenge

A person who has played abd won blindfold chess, i don't think this is harder than that.

Except for the fact that board is so huge and you have to go from one side to another running just to hit the clock 😂

Magnus did a blindfold simul against 3 players and won, this is literally nothing to him

was there a reason for the pieces to be 230 dollar radon detectors? I mean of course sponsor but they dont even seem to have a link? and you barely name drop it?

magnus has worse position in both the games he just won on time

the cinematography of these videos is amazing. And David is such a nice person

That sound when the pieces are moved is so satisfying

Lichess has a piece font that looks like this. It's fun for practicing board vision~

The title should be "Can david compete Magnus without knowing the piece?" Cause Magnus even play 8 boards blindfolded

Didn't David win the second one? Magnus flagged.

For those who’re looking for this 😉

why everyone is well dressed ! hahaha great video.

What do you mean pattern recognition?? My man Magnus can play 4 games at once BLINDFOLDED!! There's no way he forgot where any of the pieces are even for a second…

From the title you get the impression that Magnus is the only guy who plays blindfolded while his opponent isn't.

I'd be more interested to know how close he can play to full strength with this.

Small Feedback to productoin. The sound of the button being scratched over the table was awful and gave me goosebums each time. I stopped watching because of that.

100% magnus knows which piece is which, it's not that hard to follow it.
