Should have been some Fisher Random position that only Howell knew, and if Magnus made an illegal move have would lose of course πŸ™‚ Then it would actually be fair odds between them

The man who played with 5 GM with blind fold, will he will confuse. I m sorry if person think then they need mental hospital check up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Every single GM can easily do this. Probably also all IMs.

Am I the only one that noticed that they’re both wearing puma shirts

3:37-The white guy Mate by magnus by two moves bishop h8 and queen g7

Can someome explain to me why at 3:35, DAvid didn't go bishop h8? isn't that almost mate?

Only genius can play this game without knowing the pieces

Props to David for not getting blown off the board in 20 moves 😊

Why did you have to use such a ridiculously large board? It just looks cringe.

Please, we need a World Chess Championship of this!

Yep I like that awesome wow never saw that before that was cool.

He missed many chances to win against Magnus, but man , that is pretty hard, noticing Bh8 when the white queen bas on the same diagonal, but its very hard to spot with low time and with basically hidden pieces

0:07 "we might be able to rely on pattern recognition in the first few moves…"
DUDE. why did he say "we"? Magnus has been able to play games in his head perfectly since he was 12yo old or so…like he has tons of games memorized in his head. That was very insulting. (And I'm not treating Magnus as a "god" or something, several high rated players can do this…)
Edit: this guy is a GM? Maybe he just said that for the sake of the audience. They are in the middlegame and are doing fine.

The dude in the grey shirt behind nilered looks like Norwegian jim from the office

This way you Can play Chessy AND exercice

    Crowd:πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

That sounds like they're playing blitz & bullets at the same time..πŸ˜…πŸ€£

Ok this is fun but the clock is too far it kinda annoyed me a little that they had to walk a few steps to hit the clock 😒

Magnus could play this blindfolded, this would be easier

Considering the fact that Magnus Carlsen can easily play blindfold simuls against grandmasters… I'd say this isn't much of a challenge for him!

Magnus is now creating his own side missions after completing the game to 100% πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Eh, lame. Even my dumbass can do this. Eric Rosen playing chess 960 blindfolded? Now that was awesome, which is kinda what I was expecting here…

To be honest: both of them can play many games blindfolded, so this wasn’t much of a challenge for them.

I mean: I’m talking about visualization and memory.

this board size is ridiculous. they didnt even think about it a minute, it should half

I am curious why the chess clock was not placed next to the board?

Now we can call chess a sport πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Doing the recognition test of games with the air things pieces was one thing, it was a unique challenge, but playing a game with them is more of a beneficial handicap for Magnus than making it harder. Magnus can easily play 1 game blindfolded. Giving him a board with representative pieces probably feels no different for him than normal pieces (barring the size). I get that it was probably more of a production decision based off of getting another video out of the set, than it was about giving him a challenge.

People forget, when you are playing magnus, every move he makes is a good move, and every move you make is a bad move.

Man has played a 10 game blind folded simultaneous, and this thinks this is a challenge πŸ˜‚. Like did you even see his expression in the first 20 seconds?

It's not too different from a blindfolded match, is it? Esp considering there's been blindfolded simuls

This variant would be fun to play in a classical format among super GMs. Bloody games for sure.

Mad respect to that host, got a winning position from the opening twice against magnus. next time they should use a phone app pr something to keep track of time without having to run

how is this any different than playing with a blindfold?

I want to see Naka play this with Magnus. And later see the quality of the game.

"We might be able to rely on pattern recognition on the first few moves, but we will definitely lose our way somewhere along the lines"

Magnus giving that look of "who's WE?"

Something that's being overlooked here is that David had the play the game like that too, and he remained quite competitive until the end. Give the guy some credit!
