The Turk, Fischer accusing Russians, Kasparov accusing IBM, … real cheating and paranoia throughout history… chess will survive.
Its human nature to cheat. I believe that there are a lot of cheaters in chessworld. Suddenly a lot of Indian players are on top level. Is it a coincidence that happens when chess-engines appear?
I think Kramnik is just a paranoid old man who can´t fathom the idea that there´s so many people who are better at chess than him.
As for all the other accusations, I wonder if there´s actually much merit to them or if the massive, unprecedented chess boom is just bringing in a shitton of new talent and now the established top players are just saying "We never had this many high level players back in our days so they must be cheating". I mean, we got 8-years-old kids beating GMs. With performances like that, how tf can you possibly know if someone´s cheating or not?

A loser casting doubt has the least credibility. Competence becomes the biggest target. If it is reasonable conceivable by players other than the loser, the accusation must get a fierce pushback as it is an attack and harming players for laubible work. Horrible and it needs the hammer of justice to reign this in to its proper place. The is already way beyond that and a horror show of human evil on display. Cheating is a tiny problem in comparison.
Funny how the guy, who won two candidates in a row can’t beat a 2500 online and how another 2500 has the most consistent computer accuracies.

Low level chess is also overwhelmed with cheaters, we should start fixing this issue from the bottom.. AI is killing chess.. It should be illegal to use engines, best brilliant moves were made back in times when there was no computer to calculate the move. Now, often times the move is somehow precalculated, maybe not on the spot, but maybe the move was thought off of an AI previously and memorized. CHESS TO THE PEOPLE

So basically what is going on:
1. Everyone is sick of draws and play risky, converting materials into attacks.
2. Thereby if you don't make mistakes and keep your material advantage – you win.
3. Thereby if you are a cheater you don't need to show up with some big moves – just play solid and you'll win.
4. Everyone looks like a cheater, since cheaters look like a normal player.
Kramnik did the biggest favor to the chess world by make it easier for top player to talk freely when the think someone is cheating unlike before and probably that what he aimed for
so for any child who talking about him with disrespect shut up
We need to take a balance view on this (specially the spectators):
(1) Fabi's point if I understand correctly is basically this: GMs, FMs, IMs all are on morally and ethically at a similar level to everyone else. The current measures for online chess are obviously not good enough to stop someone who really wants to cheat smartly. There is an opportunity to cheat (prize money), possibility to cheat (not good enough measures), and these are normal humans too. So it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility if more people are cheating than we currently think. This, I believe is a very legitimate point and fair concern. Super GMs are completely justified in this aspect
(2) On the other hand it is also important for Super GMs to recognize their position and influence seriously and ask themselves the question. "What if the other player is not cheating?" Their accusations and actions need to be scrutinized very carefully. Specially by themselves but also by the public
(3) If you are a casual fan/chess player who cares about the game, don't start randomly trolling/accusing/insulting either side. The community needs more maturity to tackle this issue. The super GM concerns are absolutely fair and so is the reality of causing massive harms if you wrongly accuse someone. Also, I know trolls can't be removed but keeping discussions civil and level-headed is absolutely essential to minimize all the harms the online discussion causes. This however is obviously a temporary solution.
(4) The permanent solution comes from no other way but to devise measures that ensure no cheating is possible (easier said than done). No amount of insulting or punishing the top players will solve this problem People on reddit want to believe if all these top players accusing others were to shut up or shunned from the community, the problem would be solved. No it won't. Fabi's point is bullet-proof. If someone online wants to cheat smartly, we can't stop them right now. The 2500 player can cheat and play at a 2600 level against other 2500s. Doesn't mean they'll always win as a 2500 can also play like a 2700 on their best day.
(5) Also Levy (19:45), there aren't two possibilities for how much the paranoia is justified. When discussing about any specific player it is indeed just two possibilities: they are either cheating or not. But the paranoia is about how prevalent cheating is: It can be completely justified, completely unjustified or anything in between depending upon how many people are cheating.

This is a natural outgrowth of these top players being raised as “the greatest chess prodigy ever.” They can’t fathom being beaten without cheating as the reason. Also, there is no way to be absolutely positive that there isn’t cheating in online events. Therefore, I agree with Hikaru; online Big money chess tournaments are dead.

Plottwist : Kramnik is cheating himself, and he's hiding it like a god right now
Not only grandmasters. I faced cheating accusations 3 days back in a daily chess tournament. It seems that people believe a person who is 300-400 ELO below them just CANNOT beat them fair and straight.
Going through a game after it’s been played as rapidly as Levy does, doesn‘t really help to determine if someone cheated. If you know the solutions moves always look easier, than if you didn’t had the engine on. You wouldn’t detect any cheating but the most aggregious sacrifices this way. At the same time, everyone calling everyone a cheater will undermine the game of chess over the long term as chess is only beautiful if actual people find the moves. It will also increase the incentive to actually cheat, since you can hide behind the claim that currently everyone is just paranoid.
As a 1700 rated player, I’m pretty sure everyone better than me is cheating. Just stop, guys.

I would echo what he said about Fabi. He's very reasonable. I generally agree with event he says, and he seems the most balanced.
Seeing Kramnik's "analysis" posts, I REALLY want someone to fire back a hot streak of Kramnik's own. Like, a 13-win, 92+ accuracy tear he went on (without saying it's him, or when) and then get on his case when Kramnik accuses that as cheating.
