And then, a grandmaster was caught using a smartphone chess engine to help him cheat while he hid away in the toilet during a break in the chess tournament.

Personally I think some top players probably cheat but most of these accusations seem rotted in paranoia. It will get worse

In any sport people cheat it’s just facts. Especially at the top
Look at the amount of people cheating in games like counterstrike with low end estimates being around 30% of all players. Chess is much simpler to cheat in than games like that. There needs to be lifetime bans for people caught cheating. Giving people like hans slaps on the wrist is just encouraging the cheaters.

Just played a guy who crushed me in 16 moves with 99.9 accuracy and not even a blunder on my part (only 2 mistakes and 1 inaccuracy)
