Hans you could have just worn a hat like Crotchripper, no need for the anal beads mate lol

What a bizarre interview. There's a lot to say, but yes, if one is center of suspicion in a huge cheating scandal and admits to having cheated twice in the past, you should get down on your knees admitting it was wrong those two times and how stupid you were. You shouldn't explain the games away as "meaningless".

Hikaru slowly realizing that there was indeed no shred of actual evidence thrown to the public about the things they accused Hans of.

Hans didn't cheat against Magnus. His only sin was being arrogant about it. "The chess speaks for itself". Had he been humble none of this would have happened.

Hans & Terry are meaningless aahahahahahaha

I don't think doing this interview was a good idea for Hans, I think he thought it was gonna go one way and it went completely the other way.

The fact is, most online mid to highly-ranked players simply got their rating from cheating. That is a fact of life. You're extremely naive and gullible if you think otherwise. Look around you; big-time cheating is going on in every sport in the world, including Olympus. Online Chess is one of the easiest games in the world to cheat at, so you have got to be pretty stupid to not realize that cheating in online chess is probably going on around 25% to 30% at any given time. Those anti-cheat engines are a joke. I've been a computer programmer for over 20 years, and those anti-cheat chess engines, at best, might get about 20% to 40% correct at best. The rest are false positives. This is why I like to play people over the board to see if they have any real talent. I don't think Hans cheated OTB. Magnus got his butt kicked, and he wasn't happy about it, so he decided to use Hans's past admission against him, just like the government is going after Russell Brand with his past admission because Russell embarrasses the government with the truth.

piers is an idiot and hikaru feels personally attacked when someone doesnt like daddy magnus

I love you Hikaru, but you are biased af here. 🙁

If someone had any doubts in the past they are now cleared 🙂

Piers is a massive asshole, but in this case it actually helped us to great content

Omg I can't believe I missed this stream! Hilarious

Basically i can say that Hikaru is using anal beats. And how can YOU prove than you don't? So Pierce question is kind of stupid to begin with.

Magnus Carlsen does have a chess empire

Don't get me wrong, there are some dodgy things about Hans – but the way you and Magnus have conducted yourselves isn't exactly stellar either.

Hikaru is so butthurt about Hans. What a clown

his lawyer took a deep breath and looked nervous as fk right before hans staring making a bs analogy about the basketball thing at 16 lol

Somehow i feel Hans speaks more mature than Hikaru ever did. You talk shit, Hikaru. Stop making a clown of yourself for likes on youtube.

I have to give one thing to Hans. He kept a straight face throughout the whole Interview and the whole anal beads discussion. I laughed so hard when I watched it😂

Piers got into Hans' lawyer's skin lmao Piers really is a master at that

11:09 that comment from oneundertrickwonder is spot on and i can't believe I missed this. If Hans said he was trying to get his rating up, it means the purpose of cheating was to cheat multiple times because getting your rating up is a grind. So clearly he didn't "intend" to cheat once to get his rating up.
and secondly, as chessbrah pointed out, the game is not meaningless. Hans was streaming for a living, so cheating had a specific purpose/motive and was important, not meaningless.
14:48 Hans's analogy is bad. Imagine a pro athlete who is suspected of steroid use (not fouling, cheating) and we discover he had pumped himself with steroids since he was 12 years old and was caught at least twice. Uh, that's a huge scandal. And a chess engine is more effective than steroids btw. Hans is trying to say he fouled in basketball as a child? That's bs.
Hans's gaming analogy is also bad. Pro players get cancelled or banned if caught cheating. At minimum their reputation is tainted.

hans has no remorse because he's actually here trying to say cheating in other video games is perfectly fine. He really thinks cheating is okay and actually thinks these support him. and he also thinks cheating in online chess is not a big deal. Hans literally just said he approves many forms of cheating in various games, or at least cheating is not a "big deal" and should be forgiven.

In addition, Hans literally said cheating in big tournaments is not okay, but if it's just a small prize money tournament, it's only slightly worse than cheating in casual games.

And they purposely misinterpreted chesscom's report. Chesscom said even though the lawsuit is resolved, they will not back down on their report's claims of Hans's cheating. in addition, chesscom has the gold standard cheat detection algorithm, and those flagged hans's games. Magnus has nothing to do with it. The only reason it's not considered proof in court is because courts have a definition of what can be considered proof.

however, you have separate factors that found hans cheating:
    1. gm circle had no knowledge of hans's cheating admissions nor chesscom findings. gm circle suspected hans purely based on their personal expertise, independent from any other factors.
    2. chesscom cheat detection algorithm found hans cheating. the algo works alone, and is not affected by the gm circle or hans's admissions at all.
    3. hans admitted to cheating. that is hans sharing his personal experience and gm circle had no knowledge of this, nor does chesscom's cheat algo use this information.
    4. hans said he cheated to increase rating, which implies that it is a grind, which implies his intention involves repetition.
    5. being caught twice, but with a 4-year time span in between. typically, investigators would have to assume the repeat offender did not only commit whatever act it is only twice.

all of these point to hans cheating. each one points to hans cheating without influence from the other factors.

19:45 it's irrelevant whether hans cheated after this scandal/ban. that just shows hans really is a pro, but it doesn't show that hans is a pro who also isn't a cheater. ofc hans would stop cheating after this huge scandal. chesscom still stands behind their report that Hans cheated many times.

Hans calls Magnus a big bully and his lawyer calls it the biggest cyberbullying case in history? hans had been tormenting GMs for years prior to the magnus scandal. chesscom hid all the times hans cheated so GM circle could not call out Hans at all. This is why the pent up frustration blew up and how Magnus became suspicious. Hans has been the terrorizer for years and he for a fact is a cheater (at least twice caught and admitted) but flagged by the algo many times more. He's a repeat offender and he feels no remorse. He thinks cheating is fine in various games and he thinks his own cheating is the okay type of cheating. Not only does Hans think it's okay to cheat, but he misinterprets other ppl to lie about his own cheating, underplay his cheating, and then now he claims to be the biggest victim of bullying.

basically, hans/lawyer are misquoting things to lie about why he cheated and how many times. then the rest is hans saying what type of cheating is okay (funny the examples he uses are actually serious when applied to a pro in any sport/game, but hans thinks it's no big deal and said he essentially did the same). i just see no remorse at all, and he exposed his current view on cheating, where he thinks cheating is okay unless in HUGE tournaments. the guy still has the mindset of a cheater who still thinks cheating is not a big deal. his moral integrity is still not good. and when GM circle has said he's been cheating for years, and he knew he was lucky chesscom hid his cheat record from the GM circle (chesscom saved hans's career), hans is accusing chesscom of colluding with magnus and misinterpeting their report). not only does hans lack gratitude, he lacks remorse.

It's been proven that a sex toy could be used and not detected by the scanner.

I genuinely thought this was some sort of crazy video edit. Kudos to Piers for remaining so calm. Can't believe its real, the Han's stock market index is down bad right now XD

I guess all my design classes were meaningless in College, only the final year was meaningful. 😑

I dunno bro, as Hikaru said, this interview is wild. Things I grasped were :
    1. I do believe that Hans really does genuinely trying to be better at chess
    2. Hans picked the wrong turn to the explanation of his childhood cheating history that made him look hundred times worse.
    3. Piers has some insane sense of words flaw

Either way, if Hans does really want his chess career takes a better turn and DID not cheat, I wish him well. But, Piers not holding back is just a selling point for people around the world 😂

Hans couldn't explain his moves / positions and he had too many games at 100% accuracy. Additionally, his rating increase was unheard of around last year.
I don't agree with asking him about anal beads, but he is a pariah now, plain and simple.

Funny that this interview didn't make it Hans' Youtube channel 🙂

He did play one game where the other player was cheating as well, so it was engine on engine.
I would guess in ten years he will be saying what he is doing now was a childish mistake by a young person.

This is the same reason why defendents should never take the stand. It's too risky. The fact that his lawyer was with him says he wasn't prepared for the questions on his own.

plus what is he saying? if it was meaningless why would you cheat? hes supposed to be a genius, why not just win it fair and square?

jesus christ Niemann can't talk at all LOL, you literally can not count the times he says "you know"

common, we need part 2 where Piers plays Hans naked. Elon for security checks, and that cyber lawyer as a referee
