Seems that the AI practice is paying off. You mentioned the AI making moves humans wouldn't. They would be putting yourself at a "disadvantage". But really they were baiting people in 10-20 moves ahead. Maybe he was able to learn from how the bots baited him, and adapt a similar strategy. I'm no chess master or anywhere close enough to be considered good. But it's something even I've noticed.
