Sadly, alirezas father seems to be immature and classless and he has raised his son to be the same way. Unfortunate but I have hope that Alireza can ultimately grow from this. There is no hope for his father, he is way too old to be acting out or not telling alireza to not make that tweet. At the very least, just launch a formal complaint privately. Otherwise, it just looks like they are looking for scapegoats and excuses.
I predicted this title yesterday in chess24 chat yesterday, when hikaru was down on eval though with less ! and was called out for having less !, though it didn't matter who lost, the title still remains the same 😂

Will there be a video summarizing the tournament in general, showing who did well, who surprised, who performed less well, how did it compare to previous tournaments or in other tournaments, was it clear who was gaining an advantage, or were many players on par for a long time? For some, not necessary video, but I would love to hear your opinion some analysis of thoughts of comparisons, etc.

Our cat died yesterday, so I am just trying to get my mind off his death watching some YT vids, I cried a lot yesterday.
He came at our home somewhere in the beginning of this year.. My sister brought him in and named him 'Casper' after a few days. We had a lot of fun together, he would often get in my blanket for warmth, would come over to our door everyday at 4-6 AM and my mother would open up to invite him in and provide him warm milk which he would happily drink.
Today, I carried his dead body to his final resting place…

To anyone reading this, I have a 6 round classical tournament coming up in 5 days. I’m rated 1100 what opening’s would you suggest, I’ve been playing the cow and ponziani online but I doubt this will work in otb classical chess.

Innocuous as it may seem, when people use same-sex relationships as an insult or punchline, they imply there's something wrong with being LGBTQ and contribute to making the chess community feel less welcoming to people. Alireza needs to rededicate himself to chess if he wants to realise his potential. It was clear he wasnt taking chess seriously until he made that late push to qualify for the candidates. And I think the candidates performances of Pragg, Gukesh and Vidit prove that they are the youngsters who are more dedicated to their craft right now. Still think alireza has the highest potential but does he really want to be the next Magnus? Pragg, Gukesh, Vidit and Abdusattorov all do desperately.

In my opinion, in a situation where acting or not acting will impact one person or multiple other people in an equal way, the person impacted should be the just the one person. In a situation where acting or not acting will impact one person or another, the person impacte should be the one disturbing.
It's not really about whether or not he was doing something on purpose or not. He was doing something that was affecting other people, which kind of is the only thing to consider, and this solution minimizes the number of people negatively affected while assigning responsibility (even involuntary) to the correct person. It's unfortunate, yes, but there is no other solution that will satisfy every party involved, so this is in my opinion the most correct way to deal with this
You could, as Gotham said, blame the organisers for the poor choice/preparatiion of the venue, which is valid and pertinent, but I think that can be a separate discussion, because once the venue is chosen, then there is nothing else to do than adapt until it's over and you can tell them they messed up so that they get it right the next time.
