When I'm in a licking boots competition, and I see GothamChess has to comment Hikaru Nakamura's game: Pikachu Shocked face.

my mouse clicked on the video without me clicking im not joking what did you do to me

Hey Levi, could you show the accuracy of each player after the match ended? Greetings from Arg

wait at 5:00, why didnt white trade rooks at e8 instead of bringing back his queen? If the black queen recaptures the rook she drops the bishop which seems pretty free,, what gives?

Hi man, I am a new fan to chess, I decided to play after your appearance on the Yard. I also purchased your book to learn to play properly and to better understand the chess mindset.

I am heavily enjoying your content in video as-well, and while a lot of it is much higher level than I can see, you enthusiasm and genuine excitement really is motivating for learning.

I'm extremely excited for the next rounds of this tournament! Keep up the killer work man.

Wish Lei had figured out the Queen sac. That would be bringing back the Robert James Fischer chess.

You should play microsoft copilot in chess

No offense, but I tend to skip the women's games. It would be nice if those games were covered in a separate video.

I've been rooting for Alireza! He's had a terrible start but this game shows he's super dangerous. Maybe this is the start of new momentum. I wouldn''t want to be the next person to play him. He's gonna be really motivated now

Gotham really git me with That Alireza and Gukesh game, this is why i never check the results if i miss the candidates , this man knows how to entertain ❤

These videos have been the highlight of my week

    Now draws are YES!!!!!!!!!!!! apparently

yo check the joke: if Ian will ever become a father and his son/daughter will find in theirselves a big interest in chess, it could be a true and ultimate Nepo-baby
    * badum-tss *

I looked at the Gukesh – Firouzja game when Alireza was down 13 minutes and said, that's dead and done, gg, I'm off to bed. Woke up this morning and checked the score and thought what kinda parallel universe sliding doors nonsense is THIS

Thanks for covering these games, as a person who works 12 hours a day on average its always good to kick my feet up at the end of the day and enjoy your vids! 👍👍

without engine to help Levi, he would be clueless at this level, he;s not even GM, and these guys are the best in the world super GM's.

So did the checkmate not actually happen because Gukeah’s clock hit zero?

I love your Russian accent so much

    Noticed @34:40:

7/8 of all players on the left are familiar to me (i.e., seen enough coverage of their games to remember most names).

7/8 of all players on the right are unfamiliar to me.

There's some twisted kind of consistency in that.

it hard to be an Indian chess fan. although it was 4 AM I was watching the game in Chess24 India channel. both the commentator and viewers were chilling as both Indians were winning. they were having fun and I was waiting to see the magical moment when Gukesh is in the top of the leaderboard. then all of these happened. I went to sleep crying. ya, I am 28, but this is hard to handle

Man the Indians are dominating the middle games pretty well , but they aren't able to convert the games into wins , That's where I guess the experience comes

The classical championship shouldn't be a 14-round head to head. It should be a four person quadruple round robin between the current champion, the runner-up from the previous championship, and the top two from the candidates. Then, in the off year, the champion and runner-up should have a rematch for the title.

Having two matches at once would make it more watchable from a spectator/commentator perspective, and having to prep against three opponents instead of just one would make for more dynamic games. Getting second would be a big consolation since it would mean guaranteeing a shot to challenge for the title again for two straight years, and having to defend the title every year would make it less boring to be the champion. Plus, having four players would increase the star power of the event.

And always having the top two spots in the candidates matter would make it more exciting because it increases the chance for someone to make a comeback. Does anyone really think Nijat or Alireza could overtake Ian at this point? But getting second place… also basically impossible, but it would feel like there's more of a chance, so it keeps it exciting.

If Ian wins the Candidates 3 times in a row, shouldnt he be considered the new champion? That is a ridiculous feat

I think Abasov has come to the candidates with the intention to not get destroyed. He's clearly not trying to win. I don't understand. He doesn't have anything to lose. He clearly doesn't believe he can win. Why doesn't he play at least something more exciting?

Every video you make, gives me tingles. Thank you, sir.

Wait a minute, waaaaaiit a minute on last game black went into knight bird but wait when white pushed them two rook pawns up all my all my flares go up like fire works ,black has to wait to castle there is time yes white is unbalanced and black is balanced but that doesnt mean its safe to castle maybe there was other moves for black but you got to to see even if the other is throwing dice but its a cool game❤😊

Chess community is pretty retarted if Levy needs to make retarded faces on every thumbnail

Alireza is basically on nothing to lose mode. If he keeps drawing he is still gonna end last/2nd last. You have to deal with such people calmly. If you panick you are on backfoot.

Alireza and Gukesh do not deserve to play worlds after this game.

Man, I had written Firouzja off as crumbling under pressure but what a stellar win for him.

I think at this point Ali decided to be a troll and just keep the first places like they are right now

Yes black 15 minutes to go into the knights queen awesome then later donnas bird played the three rows good so did white but it was better for black to win this game❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I don't watch much chess anymore, but I always show up for Levy's candidates coverage.

I think Alireza best chance to win classical games is by playing it like rapid chess 😂

Would have loved to seen a heart rate monitor on Alireza for the last 15 minutes of that game… 😀

FOR GOD SAKE, stop saying he is winning, he is winning he has better position and at last second stating the other guy won FK man it was hard to hear at the end gukesh lost

Blacks e2 is high level and went into the knight bird reverse and knights queen reverse and yesterday I drawed the 3200 with the knights bird reverse and yes I used the arrows also with that e2 is some others I have which are at 2900 still working on three rows❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I really want Gukesh to win. Really a heartbreak we can see the face of Gukesh after the match but don't worry cause still half the tournament still remains. Gukesh FTW

I know Hikaru is the clickbaity player, but much respect to Ian. To respond the way he did in the face of amazing prep is strong. He finally earned my respect with that game.
