The king is the most important piece in the game since he is the goal, why dosent HE start on his own square? I don’t care about what the dam Queen wants
The easiest way to remember the "en passant" rule is that a pawn can only ever move forward one square at a time except that, as a concession, they can move forward two squares on their first move. If, by taking that double move, they try to get past their opponent's pawn that's a bit unfair. So the concession is cancelled (if the opponent wants to do that) and they get put back a square to be taken.
