Veselin Topalov vs Magnus Carlsen – Grand Chess Tour Paris Rapid (2016)
    [Spanish Game: Closed. Martinez Variation]
This game features incredible strategic play by Carlsen; he slowly weakens Topalov's dark squares near his king, opens up the h-file then retreats his queen from h5 to the back rank with 33… Qh8!! Carlsen then slowly constricts White's kingside through unbelievably creative and methodical positional play – first he retreats his knight to h7 to make room for his bishop, then he plays Rfc8, and then he retreats his Queen further, to it's starting square on d8!! He exerts an incredible choke hold on Topalov's position from afar, and there is nothing Topalov can do to save his position from slowly falling apart. Carlsen then slowly maneuvers his dark square bishop from e7 to g5 to f4 until it is a fully operational monster on g3, and establishes his knight on a beautiful outpost at g5. Only 8 moves after 33… Qh3, Magnus hammers the final nail into Topalov's coffin with none other than 41… Qh3!!! again!!! With no defense to Carlsen's threats, Topalov resigns.

We said we would like to see more of your games and you made it happen
again so soon, thank you so much for the huge inspiration all there years.
One of your earliest subscribers 🤗

Always a pleasure to see your games Antonio. One suggestion if you could bring back #What Sorcery Is This series 😅 . #Suggestion

How come the black player can never go first. Messed up

I got approved for early access of the App and it's wonderful. Thank you Agadmator ❤️

Great play agad.i have reached 2100 in online chess playing from lockdown just because of you .Thanks a lot for your wonderful analysis.Have a great day !

This channel is great 😃👍!! On a side note I always have to laugh when Agad says “capture-capture” 😂

Very nice play Antonio. That position seemed like it had limited possibility for activity, but you made the most out of what you were offered. Well done

No B4 played. This game is trash! Just kydding. Loved it!!!!

So would your position be conventionally seen as a transposition into the French?

Great game, Antonio! We all know Medo is actually feeding you the moves though.

Very nice game in a class of chess club amather enthusiast. Very principled game pacing. Interesting in a sense closer to common people game-understanding.

Against really strong players, finding the right or best move is so exhausting! I always feel the tension dissipate after a blunder either way.

    Congratulations!
It may look like he blundered, but I have to agree, your position looked nicer for human even before that blunder

Zdenko was tryin hard but Antonio was unstoppable ,completely out of control.

I like how the quote above the board matches your preparation experience from 1:07

"I don't play often but when I do, I take my opponents through a deep dark forest before I break their f***ing spine and devour their pathetic soul" – agadmator, 2023

Very enjoyable and instructive to hear your thought process! Fascinating really!

Regardless of how your opponent plays its your game that you have to concentrate on…. well done…

I saw both the pause video moments, but you said the Qd7 engine line, even without showing, it felt really crushing with no counter play (I haven't got to calculate that, just by instinct lol) but it was so disgusting to look at, the problem is, white got no moves whatsoever lol well, maybe could've played h3… Hmmm your opponent threw the game quite hard… It was a drawish game with white might be able to push for slight advantage… Sometimes the pawns that look like sitting ducks are actually poisonous lolChess is tough 😐😶

OMG! I got two "pause the video" answers in one day, my only two ever! It was the second pause in this video that I guessed. Very chuffed! 😂

Nice Last Move Very Clever taking his Bishop knowing if he captures your Rook than your Queen can Check his King and Capture the Rook Back that was a GM Move right there your Black pawn ♟️ on d5 stayed there throughout the game until the end Good Game Agadmator Enjoyed

Congratulations! Also, this is the first time I got both "pause the video" moves correct.
