that is not true. even at the side the white can win. for the middle scenario you just need to make sure the king is always "touching" the pawn. what nonsense crap teaching.

rewatch the video to see why you need to do the "opposition" when you can just go up to trigger a mate. turns out the video is actually meant to upgrade the pawn. not to mate.. ok fine.

But once you turn it into a queen the king will kill you because you are right beside it
Ok but after Ke8 you could have gone Kc7 instead and the red carped would have already been there without the black king being able to move to the pawn quick enough to prevent it from getting there.
