Ive definitely won games with my king next to my pawn, lool

Thx for that lesson seriously I mean that shit seriously

This is really helpful I often screw up winning endgames

"Now you are gonna win" okay but now how do i checkmate with the queen

That's a fancy red carpet! Nice little lesson.

A or H pawns result only in a draw if you play against someone who knows what they're doing lol

wtf is opposition?? why can't the king just move a step behind, someone explain

    I am 1500 online and I kept drawing matches because I didn’t know this😅

Damn I didnt even know this at 1100 elo. Thanks for allowing me to secure a victory!

White King: This Rook is gonna be my wife so stop staring at her

He should also describe how black draws from here. If black can get in front of the white king first, white will never be in a position to properly do opposition, and the pattern continues until the end of the board, where because white can’t initiate opposition, they’re forced to push their push their pawn or draw by repetition. When they push their pawn, the black king steps in front of the pawn. At this point, white either walks away and loses it, or walks closer and stalemates.

I wish I saw this video before the match I had today

What if the king doesn’t move? Can the other player call a draw or are they required to make that move?

this was actually really helpful. i used to keep my king behind my pawn

Can you make a 30 second chess lesson for rook endgames?

30 second lessons are a great idea. Concise enough to be easily retained and applied.

Anyone else think the queen definitely pegs the king? I can't be the only one

I lost many games because i misplayed opposition. Levy clarified it very vell for me.

what if their king goes forward instead of back

How do i mate with a queen/ rook and a king left

Where was this 10 years ago. Really easy explanations for pretty complex stuff for beginers
