The king won’t be able to move left because it can’t move into check

This is such good advice. I play at 1100 ELO and I just beat a 1500 ELO applying this rule! 😳🔥🙌

i dont lnow how to close out a queen and king checkmate

Cool i am not that good at chess i only have a 991

    Edit i am now a 1762

id prefer rook cause I'd draw it if it's a queen 💀💀💀

This helps a lot, but I’m so rarely ever in a king pawn endgame i’ll probably forget once it happens again

What if the king doesn’t slide directly back but instead diagonal facing your pawn. Do you still push the pawn

i got mated this way just today… im a 600 but i never did any lessons so i was just there jumping my king around and pulling my hair out

Step 1: kill all your pieces ecept one pawn

Step 2: kill all pieces on apponents side.

I’ve always wanted to know how to successfully turn a pawn into a queen with just a king and my opponent only has a king aswell from GothamChess

This is a great lesson, pls make more

Only works if black king isn't close to our pawn

You should praise allah that you have a good mental dude don’t swear and blame him

but can't he force you into a stalemate?
when black king is at c6
    white king is at e5
    white pawn is at d3
    and it's black turn.
Can't he just move king to d7 and force a stalemate because you will have to be the one to start the opposition and he will move in the direction you move to and force you to either back out or repeat the same moves until a 3 fold draw or a stalemate?

i am not sure if i am missing something here ?

I cant visualize well so can someone tell me why you don’t win if the king and pawn are side by side?

Bruh the other king was in check so many times and you didn’t even notice one

when i did this the rook was in the corner but i did not see him so my pawnn got in the end and i got the qween and the rook killed him

I taught scholastic chess for years. I like the wording and illustration to enhance learning. Opposition and out-flanking, in this position, is critical to winning and not losing 1/2 point.
