00:00 Hello Everyone!

The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.

Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

Ding takes forever to move. He didn't deserve to win this match. He should seriously also take time into consideration if he even wants to have a chance

Luckily Magnus withdrew from the championship and we don't see boring dry games and 100 move endgames. I hadn't watched such a spectacular world championship match in years

Nic (J Bruce Feynman Niccolo P. Bentulan) says:

2nd comment:  2016 WCC – This is relevant to the 2023 WCC.

Please agad cover either of the decisive games of the Sergey Karjakin vs Magnus Carlsen 2016 WCC (Games 8 and 10, preferably Game 8 since Magnus lost). #suggestion

What happened is that Magnus lost to Sergey AS WHITE in Game 8 but then compensated for a white loss with A WHITE WIN in Game 10. This is what happened to Ding Liren & Nepo for Games 2 & 4 of the 2023 WCC.

Fun fact for Game 8 – 'After the game Carlsen was visibly uncomfortable and left the press conference before it began, potentially incurring a fine of 5% of his prize money to the organizers Agon, and a further 5% to FIDE.[59] FIDE released a statement the following day indicating that the penalty would be imposed.[61] The fine was reduced on appeal to 5% of the prize money (2.5% to Agon and 2.5% to FIDE).[62]'

For Game 10: Wesley So has some interesting thoughts that DEFY STOCKFISH, as Wesley So did in 2021 St Louis Chess 9LX with the move that won the chessc*m 2021 move of the year award. (Wesley So thinks white 'still had an edge' even though the computer says black is slightly winning.)

    Some maths:
Why doesn't a drawn match go to the player w/ more black wins (if any) s.t. Sergey Karjakin not Magnus Carlsen is 2016 WCC? Surely a black win is worth more than a white win. But you might argue 2 draws with black amounts to a win with black. Does it? No question about it in chess960, where there's no theory. In chess? Gestalt psychology says the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

    Other suggestions:

    Women's chess
A – Was Kg6 in Dina's 1st GM slaying game in Reykjavik sexism? Like looking down on Dina?
    B – Anna Cramling's dad beats Mikhail Tal. #suggestion
C – Philippine women's chess #suggestion – WGM Janelle Frayna, the female Wesley So, upset Georgian GM (really GM not just WGM) Bela Khotenashvili at the 2022 world blitz.

    There's a 13-move UNDERPROMOTION puzzle here.

    [Variant "From Position"]
    [FEN "6k1/6b1/1p1P3p/6pP/3pPpP1/p2NqP2/6K1/5Q2"]

    1. Qd1 a2 2. Qb3+ Kf8 3. d7 Qe2+ 4. Nf2 Ke7 5. Qd5 Kd8 6. Qe6 Bf6 7. Qe8+ Kc7 8. Qc8+ Kd6 9. e5+ Qxe5 10. d8=R+ Bxd8 11. Qxd8+ Kc6 12. Qa8+ Kb5 13. Qxa2

For some reason none of the Philippine channels except Kelvinllovejr even cover this game. LOL. But Janelle did cover the game where e drew against Nemo, so maybe Janelle will cover this game later on.

P.S. Please help get Wesley So on Lex Fridman's podcast. See

    xcdhgq

Why did he played h5 and then froze ,, he should have played some safe moves to reach the time control and then thought it through

both players are mentally flimsy. neither one of them deserve to be called World Champion

Your dedication is awesome Agad, even whilst sick you deliver quality content

Nic (J Bruce Feynman Niccolo P. Bentulan) says:

GO NEPO! LOL LOOK AT DING LIREN'S STUPID LIST OF ROLE MODEL PLAYERS:

1 – Veselin Topalov – BASELESSLY accused Vladimir Kramnik of cheating

2 – Garry Kasparov – CHEATED Judit Polgar

3 – Magnus Carlsen – BOTH. BASELESSLY accused Hans Niemann & CHEATED Alireza Firouzja, Danya Naroditsky & Ian Nepomniachtchi

    Why didn't Liren say

    1 – Vladimir Kramnik
    2 – Bobby Fischer
    3 – Wesley So

    ?

    – bad guys: magnus carlsen, garry kasparov, FIDE, veselin topalov, hikaru nakamura, ding liren, chess itself

    – good guys: wesley so, bobby fischer, sergey karjakin, vladimir kramnik, hans niemann, ian nepomniachtchi, chess960 itself

    – kinda like 'allies of evil' vs 'axis of evil' that Bobby Fischer said in 2005 in Iceland press conference ( ARNSi0cPu60 )

    Note:

1 – Magnus is a ra()st against Americans or Jews a little like Bobby Fischer. Bobby is against the governments. Magnus is a sore loser against Jewish or American players.

2 – Even if Bobby is immoral outside chess, Bobby is a moral chess player. Wesley So & Vladimir Kramnik are too. Veselin, Garry & Magnus are immoral chess players even if they are moral outside chess.

Team Hans Niemann vs Team Magnus Carlsen is the modern chess version of 'Axis of Evil' vs 'Allies of Evil' that Bobby Fischer was talking about in 2005 in Iceland press conference ( ARNSi0cPu60 ).

Bobby Fischer would agree with everything here.

I came to this realisation from a YouTube comment in 2023 March 'Hikaru owns Magnus.' That person was somehow a Hikaru simp BUT NOT a Magnus simp.

Hikaru & Magnus are not in competition. They're allies. They're co-defendants in Hans Niemann's lawsuit.

Here's what Bobby Fischer would think:

BF1 – They along with Danny Rensch / chessc*m and FIDE the 'allies of evil' of chess as opposed to the 'axis of evil' of chess.

BF2 – The 'axis of evil' here would consist of Hans Niemann, the ghost of Bobby Fischer & Sergey Karjakin. Iceland I think is Wesley So: doesn't side with axis of evil but sides against allies of evil.

BF3 – The US in 2005 viewed Iceland the way Magnus now views Hans. What Bobby Fischer said about the US & Iceland can be verbatim applied to Magnus & Hans:

'That is a very typical kind of slimy statement the US / Magnus, pretending that they're talking from the high moral level looking down on Iceland / Hans. The US / Magnus is so utterly hypocritical and corrupt.'

(Yeah I know Iceland is Wesley So, but now Iceland is Hans. Whatever.)

    I think the parallel is:

BF3.1 – The US & Japan arrested / detained / imprisoned Bobby Fischer unjustly for a year, yet looks down on Iceland.

BF3.2 – Magnus cheated against Alireza, Danya & Nepo, yet is now baselessly accusing Hans of cheating.

BF4 – This is ironic considering Iceland & Norway are both Nordic countries:

BF4.1 – In politics (at least from Bobby Fischer's POV), the US is the bad guy while Iceland & I guess Norway & the other Nordic / Scandinavian countries are the good guys. (American NM John Chernoff aka zugaddict from lichess says: 'Magnus, like most Scandinavians, probably feels like America is a bit of a barbaric country.') But…

BF4.2 – In chess, the US is the good guy while Norway is the bad guy.

BF4.3 – As for Japan, Bobby thought of Japan as the bad guy in politics re Junichiro Koizumi but might think Japan is the good guy in chess but because of h widow Miyoko Watai, not Hikaru. So, the irony remains.

BF5 – Btw, I think Magnus might actually be a traitor to Nordic countries

    just as how

    Hikaru / Daniil / Garry

    are traitors to

the US / Russians & Jews / Jews

    for

siding with Magnus over fellow American Hans / siding with Magnus over fellow Jewish Russians Sergey Karjakin & Ian Nepomniachtchi / cheating fellow Jew Judit Polgar

    Because

BF5.1 – Bobby Fischer was saved, from the US, by Iceland, a Nordic country.

BF5.2 – Hans Niemann is the next Bobby Fischer as a superGM in terms of ethnicity as a Jewish white American. (Without the Jewish white part, of course Wesley So is the next Bobby Fischer. Of course, Hans Niemann could be the successor of Wesley So and thus of Bobby Fischer if Wesley So continues to dominate classical chess960 – in particular Wesley So unbeaten 14/14 classical chess960 games – and if Hans beats Wesley So for the classical WFRCC.)

BF5.3 – Magnus baselessly accused Hans of cheating.

BF5.4 – Magnus manipulated FIDE to lower the WFRCC time controls or at least stood by silently as FIDE lowered to favour Magnus / Hikaru over Wesley So. (Note: If Magnus didn't manipulate, then to pre-empt, I consider DmHrZ2mT6bM hardly enough to say Magnus didn't stand by silently.)

Magnus-Fabi match was tied because of no conclusive results, this match will be tied because of the conclusive results

Everyone's sad for ding but i am happy for nepo

This hurts more than break up for a Ding fan

Love it , thx for making chess so interesting mate , you should come down to our club in Australia sometime

I'm crying rn, Ding have to win this WCC ❤‍🔥

I love Agad nothing beats your analysis…

Can't believe it happened. It would be extremely hard to let go for rest of his life' if he loses championship with this moment.

I am rooting for Ding this whole championship but it will take a monumental, inconceivable effort to recover from this. I was screaming for him to move.

Literally just woke up and saw this video posted 30 seconda ago. Props to you Agad, best chess channel in YT

Ni 15 minuta nije proslo od kraja… ti si brat.

    "Lots of horsing around"–love it.🤣

What if at 7:58 pawn from c3 goes up to c4 and attacks the rook, took moves then white wins the bishop?

Try some AI engine for generating voice haha 😅

I hope you are feeling better soon and your wonderful voice will be sharing these matches with us soon!

Been waiting for Nepo to capitalize on his time advantage for a while now. Happy to see him win with it.

please don't place a 3 next to their name. it is a spoiler at the beginning of the video.

I felt so bad for Ding he waste a lot of time

#suggestion (for when the wcc is done) anand v carlsen tata steel India blitz 2019. a Scandinavian with a decisive opposite color bishop endgame!

Thank you for still making a video. Get well soon! ❤

I append to like the condensed versions of the games -Thank you
