00:00 Hello Everyone!

The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.

Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

Now total parody trust me, did horse go on Dutch defense

We got some horsing around here..😁

At 10:00 why not black queen takes white queen and then Bd4? I think I am stupid and I’m missing something obvious but I honestly don’t know.

The players like heavyweight boxers trading brutal punches until Ding fell over!🥳

on 7:56, why not c4? kicks the rook from the defence of the bishop.
    P.S.
i know im missing something obvious 🙂

Hope you feel better soon agad! Thanks for the video!

Stupid to analyze this game… It was a mental break down from Ding. Of course Nepo won, but you can't really consider this game in term of "analyze"… 24 h later, I still feel really sad for Ding. I hope that he will recover and come back as the great mind and player he is.

I understand Ding had the advantage but does anyone know what moves he needed to make to win the game or etleast get to move 40 ????

Get well soon. Try using the force now. Might work. 🤔

Can you please cover danil dubov vs vishy anand tal memorial 2018 blitz game 😊

While the games are being exciting, they are also undeniably of lesser quality. Maybe except the game 6.

Shouldn't call it winning by flagging. Ding in every matches went time trouble so it was inevitable that in one of the matches he would struggle to finish it before 40 moves. Nevertheless it was a good game.

Cudnt understand what Ding wanted to do by giving up the exchange . Well what was the compensation apart from the monster bishop which did nothing . Kinda brainfade by ding I guess

I was watching live. Anish couldn't even stay in his chair urging Ding to make a move.

Magnus 🐐goat 🐐 for stepping aside! Wut a match

Hope you feel better man. Always put your health 1st

Amazing game, those gentlemen keep impressing me. I hope you get better soon.

wrong description! increment starts only after move 61 which is very bad idea for classical chess

"A lot of horsing around here!" 😂Antonio, your voice may be cracked., but your dry sense of humor is intact. You still crack me up. Thanks for posting. Shocking end to the game. Hope Ding's buddies unfreeze him for Game 8.

Nothing to apologize for, thank you for doing this while dealing with a sore throat Antonio

    He's not feeling well…

…but still manages a nice Knight pun.

    You're a warrior.

Forever will be known as Agadmator Flu Game

Why not rook to H3 instead of the check? Pawn takes then queen takes and draw

To most of the posters here: chess is not a science, nor is it a high art form. It contributes absolutely nothing to society, nothing to the advancement of human knowledge, and nothing to the health and happiness of individuals. It is a game: fascinating, yes, but just a game nonetheless. It is entertainment. Try getting things in proportion.

Ding has a lot of talent, but needs to work on mental pressure. He should become like Hikaru where he simply "doesn't care".

The game wasn't decided by flagging. Give credit to Nepo or whatever, except the flag

This shorter version was way better than longer versions (>20) imo.

ding froze :3 just the moment when his hand shaked a little bit.. i totally felt that :/

I’m sure nepo learned a lesson or two from Hikaru flagging Magnus and winning the tournament. Nepo will also make use of all he has at his disposal to achieve victory. It might seem underhanded but it’s a part of the game he’s playing within the rules. Time is fairly distributed, and it’s also a major factor in the match, using that to your advantage, and winning just makes the game more interesting. Flagging is also a good practice because it add nuisance to the game. You’re not just playing your opponent as both of you are playing against time.😂

Magnus will always be the world champion no cap after this. I understand now why magnus is the best, but this is fun. It's like humans playing.

This was very stressful and absolutely tragic to watch in real time. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Ding would rather lose on time than play bad moves to reach time control

Well, Magnus is indeed in a different league… Nepo is so glad.

Get well soon! I really enjoy your videos.
