00:00 Hello Everyone!
The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.
Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

You are a rock @agadmator! : ) I appreciate how you even apologize for not making it a longer video, when I feel even you "short" version is extremely deep to me.
Man both players deserve so much. Incredible quality players
My favourite world championship in a very long time 👍 Thankyou Carlsen 😉🙏🏼
These fantastic open games, with so MANY moves to calculate: their brains must be in meltdown. I wonder if Magnus is watching. Silly question, of course he is. And I wonder where he would diverge from their moves?
10:04 just capture the queen then capture the c3 with the bishop…
THANKS
Very exited chess championship… but it doesn’t match the quality of the previous ones… many plunders and inaccuracies…
Thanks to magnus for bringing us this exciting WCC.
Playing against Ian is like : if you are playing a positional game and a boring position, he will get unpatient and blunder the game at any moment. If you are playing a complex sharp position, you gonna get smashed at any moment
Get well soon antonov
At the end of these videos, I'm so confused as to what was actually played, because there are so many "what if" moves he hypothecates. Just show us what was played, not so much want could have been. The lack of continuity is too much.
This game wasn't even worth reviewing. What a shambolic show of time management from Ding. Still I'll be cheering him on to win this WCC
Don't let them cramp your style. One of the reasons we watch is your lighting fast analysis of other possible lines.
Out of Time! Happens to the best! Ha 🎈🎈
When you make fun of people just asking for the moves and a few days later the world forces you to do a video like they wanted.
Everytime it's your daughter that brought something home from the kindergarten… dude leave the poor girl alone, maybe it's you that brought it home from the bar 😁
No need to apologize, Agadmator! Thank you for producing the video even though you are feeling ill! I know you will come back and give us an in-depth analysis of this game when you feel better, which I hope is very soon. Your channel my favorite YouTube channel. Best to you and your family!
@agadmator please get well! We will watch all your videos when you feel better, so no rush
Get well soon bro there isn't a good chesa channel to watch this…tried gotham chess but rozman just blabbers alot !!!
If you have COVID, consider getting Paxlovid. Best to start right away.
i know nothing about chess; could somebody tell me exactly why rook d3 loses the game on the spot?
I waited for this videos from the time ding put his rook on the seventh rank. He took so long to play it and in turn ran out of time so I knew it was not the best move.
Noob: At 5:30: Why not pawn f6 (winning a piece(?)), instead of bishop d6?
Thanks for sharing. Hope your feel better in the days ahead.
Your presentation are always outstanding.
Cheers from the Sunshine state
Thanks! Get well soon. Chicken soup will help.
wait, did we just get an agadmator stare at the beginning?
A true world championship match would never be like this with so many wins and losses. The lack of draws proves this isn't really the best players in the world. Is it exciting yes but the top 2 players would never have results like this.
What is flagging?
Get well quickly man…. great summary.
Voice wrf 😂😂
Your Sort version is enough 🎉
Thanks, TC
Hope you’re feeling better soon Agad! Thanks for the coverage
Self flagging
drink salvia tea with some thyme. maybe sparkle it for a view days after washing your teeth before sleep. trust me i am a gardener. you can use almost any salvia except maybe splendens. officinale is the best.
Crazy game w the time issue. Fun championship
Nf4 reminds me of Botvinik vs Tal Game no 6 Move 21.
I have absolutely zero sympathy for players that get into time trouble. Also, Giri was roasting Ian for trying to keep Ding in time trouble in his last loss. What's he have to say now?
this is not falgin!!
WTAF DL?
Looks like Ian is way more mentally prepared than Ding.
Get well soon Agad ❤
Thanks for your video. Get well soon. I am humbled by the viewer's comments on. Great insights guys, all I got is, "wow, a French, great game"
Thank you 🙏
Everybody can have bad days🙏🪴.
Thank you so much for this video!!!!
Oof.
Gonna be a ton of criticism for someone at this level flagging.
What's heart 💜 breaking about what happened is that I know from experience, and chess lessons, that it is common knowledge among Grandmasters that when you are low on the clock ⌚⏰, you don't engage in complications or open lines without a decisive prepared sequence of moves that can be played rapidly. At this level of play, the contenders should know this. Even under stress. Nepomniachtchi's piece activity was reduced and Ding should have played what the commentator suggested the non committal "Kg7" throwing the ball in Nepomniachtchi's court to find a plan with his constricted position on Nepomniachtchi's time. Nepomniachtchi doged a bullet today.
Hope you get well soon master
Not quite fair to say Nepo flagged Ding, he was thinking on queen takes c5 for like 3 minutes. And he also dont have too much time on the clock, if he takes h4 right away, thats not flagging, thats Nepo. He is also quick on obvious moves.
Inexcusable to flag in a WCC. Im disgusted as a guy rooting for Ding.
alot of horsing around here…….i see what you did there 🙂
