The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.

Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

One of the few channels where I can always give the like before watching the video 😅

Agadmator: I don't want just the moves. I want you to go as deep into every line you can.

As much as I want Ding to win, Nepo won't miss with white

His stole all his wealth so yeaaaa he is a Bond villain…..welcome to a capitalist

Ding has the better preparation, Nepo is slightly better player, but neither one is championship material.

    Nice Magnus Move T-shirt XD

Ok, so I have to ask: the Qxf6 on @agadmator’s t-shirt, is that in the French Rubinstein, or?

Damn, poor Ding. Even I saw that taking the bishop was bad because it took the rook off the past pawn.

Prior he let Nepos bluff fool him. This poor kid has so little confidence I just want to hear Rapport giving him the pep talk of the century.

Ding, with that refusal to take the rock it reminded me of myself when I was a child. I never excepted sweets from strangers

Magnus didn't trust nepo when he blundered and thats the difference.

Thank you for adding a summary at the end of these WCC games because these videos cover a lot of stuff, so a summary at the end really helps.

Agadmator.. you sound like a bond villain

And it was in this video that Agadmator shows off his cool merch and gains +10 agility

13:53 damn I thought it was fianchettoed bishop and then check with taking pawn on E5 which discovers the rook. Although Nepo simply could have moved his rock after the fianchetto I suppose

Only if nepo gave this much chance to magnus he (MC) would have obliterated him.

Its worth to learn chess just to follow this Channel

Can we expect detailed analysis of Game 7 soon.

who would have thought we could have this in a classical game

I feel like this game is heavily influenced by Rapport's style.

How good is the chess if ding blunders the endgame multiple times?

I really enjoyed this one! The video is absolutely not too long.

Ding is so frustrating to support.
As incredibly talented as he is, he is equally incredibly fragile, both mentally and emotionally.

Why is this championship taking too long to conclude?

thanks Antonio. Enjoyed the long and short versions.. Great to see yoy better

Agad, dude, something crossed my mind: if you put in past WCC games in an engine and check the bar, how often does the bar swing like this game? I suspect these guys don't care well about their moves: for God's sake, who will leave her rook like Jan did?

    Just wow agad….just wow…..❤❤❤❤

Ding seems to kind of wilt in certain situations. "Wilt" being a relative term.

I need to try those bluff with my 600 ELO, it will be fun.

One Love, One Family! Abundant Joy & Celebration! says:

    Nice game!🎉

I don't think that was impossible to calculate. I was watching the event live and Giri once Nepo played that queen move, spotted immediately it was a bluff and blitzed out the moves without the use of the engine. And Giri in the number 6 in the world, not even preparing for the world title, so I think as Giri said too, that the previous game put ghosts on Ding who was putting all the attention on the clock because he missed something like 5 moves to win the game on the spot.

You should also add a bar showing which colour is better at the moment so the new players can understand the game better

Question: what are players doing when they get up from their chairs? Can they consult their seconds ever or no.

Poor Ding. He is so honest and likable person. And such a strong chess player, but he visibly collapses. Almost like Nepo in his match against Carlsen, after game 6.

Magnus would crush Nepo with the blunders he gets away playing against Ding. Ding is not playing his best Chess. Too much distractions, too much on his mind. Ding needs to block everything out and focus on being the World Chess Champion.

Agadmator: "was Qh4 a bluff?" Nepo: "no Qh4 wasn't a bluff i thought it was a brilliant way of saving the game, but a few minute later i realized i had misse…" Agadmator: "Anyway Qh4 great bluff"
    Nepo answering Agadmator's question https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUUezxhDdsU

Once again would like to say many of us really like your rapid fire analysis of other possible lines.
please don't let criticism impede your presentation style.

Wonderful game by Ding! Even though I wish the title bit more to Nepo, in this game I'm bit sad, Ding did not win.
Thank you, Magnus, you decided not to play and we can have this absolutely amazing WCC.

A game between two 2000 players, nothing high Caliber….
    Ouch
    Very ouch

Compare this world championship to the last. Incredible stuff. Rivetting

Ding is in trouble. Nepo has made 1 mistake in the match and Ding has made several. If Ding won with white in Game 6 with the London, you have to come right back in Game 8 with the London again.

Hey! Heard your question about the bluff at the press conference! Nice one.
