I remember when levy covered ding's journey to candidates, i had a random thought of if ding wins .. thats gonna be a wild thing(and it is).. as i watched live.. i thought they would draw but at edge of repetition, ding didn't move the obvious move and i was like 😭.. he doesn't have time.. and someone gonna lose.. the Rh6 wouldn't be called brilliant in normal but considering the emotion, time, wilderness of the situation, it was just scary and brilliant to see..

maybe if it were magnus, this would have been a pretty much one-sided boring match! he chose not to play probably to give the world a chance to see an exciting world chess championship match! congrats to ding! now magnus has something to go for….against ding! but probably we know who will win that match unless ding improves to a stellar level!
I hope he will bring a new wave of players in china, where young prodigys will rise to rival current supergrandmasters. Big congratulations to Ding. Can't wait to hear Magnus coming back to claim back his title although I kinda feel like he might even step back for good. If he does decide to go for it, I definitely root for Ding.
