What a weird sort of forcing sequence where you can't not do the moves you know you need to avoid because those same losing moves are your best hope. Black just coming unraveled there to either a slight material deficit going into a losing endgame, or a hopelessly vulnerable king stranded out in the open.

Amazing calculation, but most of all I wonder how do you even realize you need to look at a move like Qg3? Most players – I imagine even many GM:s – wouldn't even seriously consider a defensive queen sacrifice.
I agree that this is one of the most brillant moves ever, which is incredibly difficult to find as we filter it out after the KQ fork

As I get back into chess, I don't really try to memorize tactics and things besides "keep pieces" for this exact reason, I don't want to be left completely dumbfounded when my opponent goes off-script.
