The Pro Chess League is a $150,000 16-player team tournament taking place on Chess.com, featuring Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri and many more top players. The first five weeks are a Swiss tournament that will see half the teams eliminated before the Playoffs, which are an 8-team knockout.

Each team has 6-10 players, but only 4 play each week, with an average rating cap of 2550 and at least one woman in each line-up. Each member of the team plays each member of the opposing team at 10+2 rapid chess. In case of a tie the players play another round of games at a faster time control.

    Vladimir Simagin vs Leonid Stein
(USSR Championship 1961a Tournament) A Crazy Imaginative Game!!!
Plz also say something about Wilhelm Steinitz saga.

Haven’t seen Meadow in a while. Hope everything is ok.

Are you Russian? My dad said I must unsubscribe and report your videos if you are. Russia is now the enemy again.

How can you prepare position so deep in the game

The entire c3 line is probably Magnus territory, but the first move c3 is not hard to find and Levon could have played it, even by inertia.

These videos are so addicting. Always the last thing I check before going to bed.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Answer: It’s a draw

Excellent attacking by Levon and defense by Wesley.

As a German i understand the mistake, but its acutally „double-u“, not „vee“ 😇

I can't figure out how the search engine works…where is the search button to click after filling in the filters

while levons quote on top is certainly a valid thing, in my opinionm the era of computers and therefor computer aided chess also brought a very interesting generation of new players to the table. not only made it far more visible than before. maybe it also lifted the overall quality of so many players we have. but maybe thats just my own neoromantic view of the things 😀

You are mispronouncing the name of the tournament! The letter "W" is pronounced "double-you", not "vee" (which is how you pronounce the letter "V"), so the tournament is the "Double-You Are Masters", not the "Vee Are Masters".

Incredible game, understandable choice by Levon but a pity he didn't fight for victory.

5:12 can someone explain why qxh6 is the only move for Wesley? If f3 let’s say qxg3 fxg4 and then?

#suggestion – I used your search function to find that you have covered Kasparov's immortal (Kasparov vs. Topalov 1999), but you haven't covered it in 60 frames per second.

Once Wesley gave up his queen I assumed his loss was assured. I personally would have resigned at that point. But after that point Wesley played with the precision necessary to achieve a draw. It looked hopeless to me, so I was very impressed.

Lars Tissemand? Somebody trolling our guy 🤣

"And you can resign the game." I've heard that statement many times.

My day is excellent when Levon is playing well. 🙂

Agad it is pronounced Doubble U R Masters. Cause its a W not a V

Crazy position for a classical game, two great player

Two wonderful players. Cheers to both

5:21 Black Pawn: (after Black Queen captures White Queen) Very good, Your Highness!
Black Queen: (sighs) Okay, I got her, now who captures me?
Black Pawn: Actually, Your Highness, you're perfectly fine. There'll be no 'captures, captures'.
Black Queen: (surprised) No 'captures captures'? Oh, okay… (shrugs shoulders) I gotta admit, I'm not used to this.

why the hell would wesley want to repeat in that position!? its a free rook with a past pawn. its literally a queen vs a knight. even i would win that position againt levon

There was no…..And it was from this move we have a completely new game

Nic (J Bruce Feynman Niccolo P. Bentulan) says:

5:45 agad this should be a 2nd pause the video moment! It's an 8-move puzzle!

Nic (J Bruce Feynman Niccolo P. Bentulan) says:

2nd comment: Please cover in Philippine women's chess – WGM Janelle Frayna, the female Wesley So, who upset Georgian GM (really GM not just WGM) Bela Khotenashvili at the 2022 world blitz? #suggestion

    There's a 12-move UNDERPROMOTION puzzle there.

    [Variant "From Position"]

    [FEN "6k1/6b1/1p1P3p/6pP/3pPpP1/p2NqP2/6K1/5Q2"]

    1. Qd1 a2 2. Qb3+ Kf8 3. d7 Qe2+ 4. Nf2 Ke7 5. Qd5 Kd8 6. Qf7 Bf6 7. Qe8+ Kc7 8. Qc8+ Kd6 9. e5+ Qxe5 10. d8=R+ Bxd8 11. Qxd8+ Kc6 12. Qa8+ Kd7

For some reason none of the Philippine channels even cover this game. LOL. But Janelle did cover the game where e drew against Nemo, so maybe Janelle will cover this game later on.

I agree with the Levon quote at the top, I have been saying the same thing for years.
