I don't know why in my 40s rated 1900 on lichess I can be a gm material for just finding a interpose tactic.
Even my friends at the bar and the library found Rd8.
Could he also not have trapped the black rook on the last rank by moving his bishop directly to e8 . I know the best move was played in the game but it would have been tough for black either way. Rook and king trapped on the last rank while white's rook roamed free.

I found all the pause moments dear Agad but i am stuck at 1400 elo and it seems like there is not much progress ever since๐, nevertheless thank you so much for showing us such a great game
The last pause-the-video moment was surprisingly easy. I spent so much time thinking "wait, why is Rxa1 and Rd8 not just winning on the spot? GM material? Do I need to switch the move order or something?"
But no, the straightforward answer is indeed the best answer.
Funny enough I only find the 3rd pause the video moment. There really aren't that many options and the tactic actually win the game on the spot (unlike the other 2) so I actually feel it's a bit easier
