    Interesting to hear Andrea’s thoughts.
Dina’s advice “JFDI – it’s your job; don’t be so invested in the results” maybe helped a bit. There’s imposter syndrome at play though isn’t there? The notion that most people feel that we are “pretending” to be something we aren’t and the stress of being found out. The cure is to internally relabel oneself, not to stop caring. I suspect that, even though she’s achieved 1900 FIDE which is a huge achievement in itself from where she started, Andrea internally worries about whether she is really a “chess player” given that’s how she makes her living. If it helps at all, I see Andrea as a “Chess personality who is working hard to improve and is fun to watch because she is funny, because her relationship with Alex is warming to see and also because she is prepared to challenge herself, whether it be in chess, boxing or anything else.”

If Andrea starts seeing herself that way too, I think she’ll worry less about being an imposter. She’s not. People are behind her because they like her. They like that she’s working at her game, they are delighted when she wins; yes, they are disappointed when she loses, but they know she’s putting herself outside her comfort zone and being authentic on the stream. Basically, they want the best for her. Keep working at the chess, and keep introducing challenges for yourself and never think you shouldn’t be doing what you are doing. You are good enough at chess to create value for the people watching you who can learn from you, because you are vastly better than 99% of your subscribers, and you are incredibly watchable so a perfect ambassador for the game. You are made for this!

The interesting is the analyses and conversation between Alex and Hammer at end at around 11:42…. After a marathon game their brains are still working and this is professionalism

Is Hammer implying Chess is a sport at the 2 hour 5 minute mark???? I thought it was a game of skill. Is Hammer suggesting Chess should be an Olympic Sport???? 🙂

The "quality" of these games is PATHETIC! (If your "big victories" are people rated LOWER than I was as a seven or eight years old, then YOU have a PROBLEM)!!

Hammer- Enjoying the commentary on this tourney
