@GothamChess new format idea: play with you and someone else taking turns moving
Insightful content. Thanks!
on 28:33 u couldve played pawn to f3
54:03 wow
It seems fishy to me that a 1000 opponent could take you to a K and pawn endgame. His play was way too solid for that rating imo.
Great vid! As a 1200 I find this super helpful. Question: in the last game after Nh6, what if white plays h3? Doesn't that just mess up your whole Bg4 idea and put your Knight in an awkward place on the edge of the board?
I love how he’s on a timer against a real opponent and just casually explaining how to win not even worrying about time. While the opponent is trying to win, he already has.
Want to be 1500 in chess? Lemme show you.
Get better
i tried playing a game after that first game in the video and i was playing as black and they played the london and then i fell for a knight fork and made 3 blunders then resigned
Idk why am watching this am literally 500
26:35 what's the best move there?
At 18:17 you could’ve did queen c1 to check and take the rook
Amazing video! more like that pleaseee🙏
1:07:06 (White Bishop to B5): it likely would not have made much of a difference, and maybe delayed things, but I would have considered moving it to D7 with the intention of moving it to E6. If allowed to execute, and paired with a move or two from the white knight on C3, it would have been interesting. Although you'd likely repel such an attack with ease.
Everyone can't be 95th percentile levy
18:00 why not Qxa2?
I've been playing the BOTs, gradually climbing up to 1500 as I can consistently beat each one in turn. Stuck at 1500 with only about 50% wins. Of course, my concentration has been less than acute lately. Playing chess unfocused is a recipe for losing for sure.
7:18 Castle what levi ?
im a 1750, get rekt noobz ahahahahaha
Anyone know how @GothamChess draws arrows on the board?
Dear Levy, thanks for this content.
My dog is begging please turn off the sound effect of pieces plunking the board. Terrifies her. 😳
hello, why did you not play @ 1:02:00 your pawn d4 , it is protected by 2 knights and 1 queen and disconnects his bishop to white pawns which leads to take the pawn back
I’m 1650 without knowing any openings lol
Does Levy always drink water out of a carafe?? LOL
Incorrect at 7:15 – can't castle long because of white bishop
No I dont thanks for asking though!
30:10 Me everyday
Why not rook d1.in the rook endgame instead of played rook d2?
I'd be happy to break a thousand. Currently hovering around 600 live, and 800 1-3 day.
15:29 "Now there's two of them!" – Star Wars quote
13:59 isnt rook d1 a good move?
Thanks Levy! I increased my win rate to 61% and gained over 100 elo in 1 week on lichess after watching this video (1050 -> 1160)! I think the most helpful part was related to time management. I started spending much more time considering all the possibilities in the positions. In the end, I blunder less and use time more effectively. I think before that I was kinda playing rapid with a blitz tempo. Thanks!
At 32:12 you/he moved Qh4, why did you/he go that way instead to the center (like my 800 elo brain would have done)?
Gotham your jaw is flocking are you on stimulants?
Don't click here 30:09
22:40 you could play maybe Qb5? So you make pressure on knight and the bishop? No? @GothamChess
6:13 never let them know your next move
I would love to see some more commenting on what the opponent should do on every position and not just when they made a clear mistake.
watching the whole vid without skipping, i hope i can learn many things
I’m only at 500, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it the case that white decides the opening and you play the defence for that opening?
I have noticed the app flashes up the name of the opening when you do it for the first time, it would be handy if it flashed it up every time so I could learn what’s what.
nooo please i don't want to lose 350 elo points
Video was nice but when he says like “for an intermediate player this is tough” i think would be more helpful if said like “heres what i as an IM would play in a tournament” cause seems more like trying to teach how to play vs a 1500 not how to keep improving even beyond that
the ending of game 3 was beautiful. I actually thought "what if you push the pawn instead of taking the queen" but couldn't see the whole thing through, the fact that it is the top move with the double into discovered check was nutty
Dude you talk just like Tom Segura. Are you japanese?
Bro I just realized growing up is realizing you will never be able to take a white bishop with black bishop and white pawn with black pawn
My New Year wish is for you to get a new wallpaper/background/overlay. I love your content but can't stand the white lines on the black background anymore. Please.
Y'all yammering on about why you should move here and why you ought not move there. Puhleeze. Not having any of that. Never thought drinking from a vase would be so powerful. But after chucking the flowers and filling her up, the results are undeniable. You should've done a better job hiding this secret to chess. Now that it's out, please consider drinking from larger and larger vases every episode. Firstly, cuz it'd continue the hilarity. Secondly, cuz I'm confident that's how you can make big jumps in rating. Go ahead…put it to the test.
levy i hit 1500 the day before this video was uploaded. are u a wizard???
Has a Link pfp,what a legend
13:25 why not Rd1? that looks winning on the spot
