After all, the only match that matters is the world championship and the only tournament that matters is the candidates… any player can do poorly (as long as they qualify for the candidates) and just win 1 tournament and 1 match to be world champion… Firouzja can do well when there is less pressure but we saw how he cracked under pressure of the biggest tournament there is… he is young and still has room to improve his skill and mental fortitude… rooting for him

I will say it now and please screen this post, @agadmator's Chess Channel.
One day in the not so far future, a retired ex-world champion called Magnus Carlsen will challenge the newly crowned world champion Alireza Firouza for one of the most epic and long awaited chess battles in the history of the sport

FIDE trash championship, both ding and nepp got farmed by Alireza

Aside from Alireza , I am keeping an eye on Duda and Nihal sarin . Both of them extremely dangerous attackers . If Nihal keeps his cool under pressure he can become a force to reckon , and Duda is already a force of nature . hope we can see some nice games by them .

As many have stated it looks like title contenders seem to be somewhat tired. This seems to be especially true about Ding as

even his lost games in this tournament looks more dynamic and interesting. It is also obvious that the rest of players have

been busy studying and analyzing championship games and openings in their free time in a relaxed mode. This point

also relates to Magnus Carlsen's complain about the issue of the studying of 'opening in chess' which have degraded the game

and which is a factor in his decision not to defend the title.

The following, a new chessboard, could be an extension and evolution of chess game.

Here, the king rows retain the eight squares while the other rows have a square added in each side.

The Pawn rows will have an extra Pawn square in each side.

This new game, maybe called 'chess+' will add more overhead for computers thus more equalizing chess vs human game.

It will also render useless all 'opening game' analysis %100 while retaining application of human ingenuity %100.

This b4 move is becoming increasingly strong 😂

The question is how do you pronounce every name with absolute precision?🫠

I really learned a lot from Firouja's movement of the queen in the end. How many of us would blunder that ending, or give away a stalemate! 😂

I want a WCC match between Alireza and Hikaru

All these players might be feeling like world champions after beating NEPO and DING…………..let them get some rest and then come back………….you all gonna see why 1 was the challenger🔥and other is the Champion👑!

I think Nepo and ding are very tired of the WCC and nepo is devastated by the loss in WCC and he is not able to concentrate on the games and he and ding should have taken rest after WCC

    5:47
I always call it "checkmate to the queen"
    It's a forced trade

These guys just finished a world championship match down to the last round, and Alireza has been away for months. Then he comes out and beats both of them back to back. He has been watching them play and learning.

It takes so long to understand that chess is about putting force behind other pieces. Like a chain reaction or a line of dominos. Tactics makes it more difficult to do that. It makes you want to brute force the other player but you can't do that.

8:05: What was the problem with Qc8+ followed by Qxb7?

Ding and nepo need some rest. And no.

Alibooza will always be tainted as a clown because of the bs he tried against Magnus Carlsen, demanding to win the match against Magnus since Magnues uttered a word in norwegian in a tense situation. Bozo is not welcome to Norway and Sweden and not to Europe either.

Is it possible that Nepo is still punch-drunk? I hope he will shake it off soon.

That’s amazing, the world champion in last place.

#suggestion game between Xu Yi and Pranesh M that happened yesterday in Pro chess league. That game is likely to be awarded game of the year this year. It features 5 brilliant moves. Kindly cover that

What a beauty…So simple and devastating at the same time in construct, the entire game,,, Hardly any blood spilled, and yet not the Karpovian style of Boa constrction, or even a thousand cuts that bleed you to death…

Nepo was totally lost here. Apart from 16) Ng5, which Alireza dealt swiftly, he doesnt have any attacking moves.

    After Alireza's 30) Qg4 game over.

You couldn't get better pictures of these two? You have to get ones where they look off?

Nepo allowing h5 at the end killed his fortress chances. It was so odd to see him play g6 so impulsively after sacrificing the queen like 2 moves ago. If he spent like 5 minutes on the move he could've possibly held it together!

Wasn't he up on time too?

Magnus was always almost right. Even regarding Hans the cheater…but many says otherwise. He's world champ for many years in the engine era for a reason!

Alireza's brilliant early b4 move, and it was in that position that Nepo resigns from the game as there is nothing to be done here.

Magnus was absolutely right, how could be exciting if the WC had been played by Magnus and Alireza!
WC tournament between Ding and Ian waa the most boring one!

Nepo would’ve lost this even if he hadn’t played the championship.
Alireza was too strong in this game and Nepo seemed to play his usual style that includes rushing moves from time to time.

its not right to judge nepo's and ding's performance in GCT, this can happen to anyone ,,#love and #support to ding and nepo ❤️❤️, Nepo and ding has shown their domination in candidates where they outclassed these players.

When Magnus said he would defend his title only if Alireza was his opponent, it seems he knew something the rest of us did not.

I think Carlsen and Firouzja should do an unofficial World match. 🤣

The early B4 is great, but the late B4, around or past Move 40 is the winning move

nepo is still damaged from his defeat to ding in the world championship

not discrediting ding, but we all know that he is arguably the weakest champion in a long while…

Interestingly, one of Ian’s smoothest wins in the candidates was against Firouzja. Similar to this game, Firoujza made a surprising decision to double his g pawn and open up his king. Obviously the position was much different, but I think Firoujza deserves some credit for continuing with that theme after it backfired spectacularly not so long ago.

So the #2 and #3 players in the world have both lost more than 10 elo with terrible scores at this event directly after playing in the world championship that a) likely made them completely exhausted and b) prevented them from doing any preparation for this tournament. What a coincidence

He absolutely bombed at the challengers, he choked and then played 300 games until 3am, he needs to grow up

Nic (J Bruce Feynman Niccolo P. Bentulan) says:

2nd comment: 2016 WCC – This is relevant to the 2023 WCC.

Please agad cover the other decisive game of the Sergey Karjakin vs Magnus Carlsen 2016 WCC (Game 10, where that TALENTLESS patzer won). #suggestion

What happened is that Magnus lost to Sergey AS WHITE in Game 8 but then compensated for a white loss with A WHITE WIN in Game 10. This is what happened to Ding Liren & Nepo for Games 2 & 4 of the 2023 WCC.

Fun fact for Game 8 – 'After the game Carlsen was visibly uncomfortable and left the press conference before it began, potentially incurring a fine of 5% of his prize money to the organizers Agon, and a further 5% to FIDE.[59] FIDE released a statement the following day indicating that the penalty would be imposed.[61] The fine was reduced on appeal to 5% of the prize money (2.5% to Agon and 2.5% to FIDE).[62]'

For Game 10: Wesley So has some interesting thoughts that DEFY STOCKFISH, as Wesley So did in 2021 St Louis Chess 9LX with the move that won the chessc*m 2021 move of the year award. (Wesley So thinks white 'still had an edge' even though the computer says black is slightly winning.)

    Some maths:

Why doesn't a drawn match go to the player w/ more black wins (if any) s.t. Sergey Karjakin not Magnus Carlsen is 2016 WCC? Surely a black win is worth more than a white win. But you might argue 2 draws with black amounts to a win with black. Does it? No question about it in chess960, where there's no theory. In chess? Gestalt psychology says the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

    Other suggestions:

    Women's chess

A – Was Kg6 in Dina's 1st GM slaying game in Reykjavik sexism? Like looking down on Dina?

    B – Anna Cramling's dad beats Mikhail Tal. #suggestion

C – Philippine women's chess #suggestion – WGM Janelle Frayna, the female Wesley So, upset Georgian GM (really GM not just WGM) Bela Khotenashvili at the 2022 world blitz.

    There's a 13-move UNDERPROMOTION puzzle here.

For some reason none of the Philippine channels except Kelvinllovejr even cover this game. LOL. But Janelle did cover the game where e drew against Nemo, so maybe Janelle will cover this game later on.
