Norway Chess is a 10-player round-robin featuring Top 5 stars Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja and Hikaru Nakamura taking place in Stavanger, Norway from 30 May to 9 June. Each of the 9 rounds consists of a classical game where a win is worth 2 points and a loss 0. If the players draw they play an Armageddon game, where the winner earns 1.5 points and the loser 1 point. No draw offers are allowed before move 30.
The 3+2 blitz opener takes place on Monday 29th and will give the winners the chance to pick their pairing numbers for the main event. The classical time control is 2 hours for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move only after move 40. For Armageddon White (the same player who had White in the classical game) has 10 minutes to Black’s 7, with a 1-second increment from move 41. Black wins if the game ends in a draw. A tie for 1st place will be decided by two 3+2 blitz games followed, if necessary, by a 5 vs. 4-minute Armageddon game. Official website: norwaychess.no

Shakh's defensive techniques were truly INCREDIBLE in this game. I can imagine most GMs losing to Fabi's attack easily.

Regarding Bobby Fischer rating in 1972, is there a chess equivalent of an inflation calculator for ratings? What would some of these older players' ratings be in today's points?

I hate those ratings. They are, literally a product of winning somewhat more than you loose coupled with playing lots and lots of games. Something that, in the past, wasn't possible.
This game is really a good example of keeping cool when being under attack and finding the right defensive moves. So much pressure on his king but he was ok all along

there is a thing called trim. you can cut the mailman part. It is significantly easier than chess. consider it
It is very interesting to me why don't have more 2800 rating players currently and it the past 1-2 years. Compared to 2014-2015 I see there were usually 3-5 players rated above 2800, so what happened since then? Most of the players are still active, so are they performing worse than before or just everyone's powers are so equal that none can get enough points to cross the line? Nepo and Ding were both so close after the WC it almost feels unfair.
Try getting some production values and learn to edit out interruptions.
