Norwegian Chess Federation suspends Karjakin

The Norwegian Chess Federation (NSF) has suspended Sergey Karjakin and other players supporting the special operation in Ukraine from rating tournaments on its territory and called on organizers in other countries to follow its example.

“The Norwegian Chess Federation does not want Sergey Karjakin or other chess players who support the war in Ukraine to be allowed to participate in tournaments under the auspices of the association. This includes all rating tournaments in Norway, and the association strongly recommends that all other organizers do the same,” the statement said NSF.
