Pupils of Georgian schools will be obliged to learn to play chess

From the new academic year, which started in Georgia on September 15, chess classes will become mandatory for first-graders. This is stated on the official website of the Ministry of Education.

Over the summer, grandmasters trained 4,000 teachers for new classes, according to the ministry. In addition, the Ministry of Education prepared the necessary curriculum and textbooks.

The department emphasized that the lesson was introduced at the initiative of the Minister of Education of Georgia, Mikhail Chkhenkeli.
