Dommaraju Gukesh commented on the game against Magnus Carlsen
The 9th round of the Tata Steel Masters super tournament took place in Wijk aan Zee (Netherlands) yesterday. One of the central parties was the meeting between the world champion Magnus Carlsen and the young Indian talent Dommaraju Gukesh. The opponents agreed to a draw on the 46th move. In the post-match interview, Gukesh shared his emotions from the first classic game against the reigning world chess champion.
“It was my first classic game against Magnus, and this is something very special. Even before I started, I was sure that whatever the result, I would learn a lot anyway.
Before the game, I thought that if I couldn’t win, then regardless of whether I lost or drew, I would ask him to analyze the game together, and fortunately, he agreed. I am very grateful to him for that. We analyzed for 50 minutes, and it was great!”, – said Gukesh.
