Two-time champion of Russia Evgeny Tomashevsky about the Superfinal

As part of the press conference, Tomashevsky shared his expectations for the upcoming championship.

“I am very happy to be here. For me, this is the twelfth Superfinal of the Russian Championship. I won my previous two titles in Izhevsk and Chita, respectively, at the Republican Game Center, I will be glad if the tradition continues,” the athlete emphasized.

“I found out with some surprise that I am a veteran of these competitions, although I am only 35 years old. This suggests that chess is getting younger. Nowadays, it is really a very young game and a truly young sport.”
