Hikaru Nakamura became the Fischer World Chess Champion

The Fischer World Chess Championship, held from October 25 to October 30 with a prize fund of 400,000$ (1st place — 150,000$), ended in Reykjavik (Iceland). In the final, Hikaru Nakamura beat Ian Nepomniachtchi. The match of the 4th games ended in a draw, but White in Armageddon success was on the side of the American grandmaster. The final score is 3-2 in favor of Nakamura.

In the match for 3rd place Magnus Carlsen defeated Nodirbek Abdusattorov with a score of 3-1. 5th place was taken by Vladimir Fedoseev, who defeated Wesley So 3-1. Finally, Matthias Bluebaum, who defeated Hjorvar Steinn Gretarsson, got the 7th.
