As a 1500 I can approve that this is how a 1000 plays chess.
One of the things that frustrates me is that I can no longer maintain above 700 ELO and therefore can't learn to play correctly because people keep playing garbage

I think i speak for all 600-800's when i say we trade pieces when we're losing for the following 2 reasons:
1. it's less likely to get checkmated with less pieces on the board.
2. It's much more likely that our opponent don't know how to win an end game.

i am 1050, but i really felt that the 1000 rated games were horrendous. If i were black i would not trade when i'm down material, unless required(would loose material if not etc.) and I saw some missed opportunities before Levy commented on them

Everytime i try to analysis a move goes like "Rf5 looks good… Wait nvm that just blunders a rook what about be8 then he would probably attack it with a rook and that's a check afterwards…. Ehh doesn't look good what about Rf5 ooo that looks good" and then i blunder a rook
