That was totally awesome Levy thanks. It was like watching my own bullet or blitz games, where I was on the losing side each time ! So it was funny to see they were 10 minute games. And how time is relative to rating in an abstract way. If chess 960 has taught me anything recently, its that sometimes I think that my opponent does NOT know what he wants ! Hahaha.

I get that Levy is trying to make this instructional for everyone, but 3 digit elos should put most of their effort into just not blundering. Even the 1200 game had multiple one move hanging pieces.

The only thing I disagree with Levy on… Chess isn't really really fun when you climb. I guess, it's a weird kind of fun, but for me it was more fun when I could play dumb shit and get away with it because both me and my opponent ate too much paste to care.
When you get into the range where players stop making critical mistakes easily… it isn't as much fun anymore 🙁
I took a shot every time levi said "What does my opponent want?" and now I'm dying of alcohol poisoning xD

What does my opponent want? was said 789 times in this video, thats 29 times a minute, thats one time every 2 seconds. But some of you still doesent know the deep and spiritual meaning of what does my opponent want?
Hi, I have a question, why do I have to be the one to ask the question? I mean… ny opponent can go offense and do whatever he wants and doesn't ask and puts me into danger and stuff and… idk… its like… where will this get me, I mean of course if I go attack I lose cuz they ask the question but… how does the game continue what is the goal, if my opponent sees the checkmate threat and stuff then what is my goal, is chess mainly a defense game? Like I make sure to defense good and maybe my opponent does a mistake

What does your audience want, Mr. Gotham? By my estimation and expertise in chess algorithms, they want to win the lottery. If you don't want to gamble, then a chess exercise in the Fresh Glance, and attempting to predict an opponents' move rather than trying to win the chess algorithm lottery, asking "what does my opponent want" is an excellent exercise in learning the science of free will in relationship to chess.

Worth mentioning the time control by black in the last game. Absolutely perfect. Consider all options and try to make the best decision. Great video and definitely one of the hardest concepts in chess as an intermediate / beginner.

For anyone wondering, I counted every time Levy asks “What does my opponent want”? (and close variants of it), and he says it 77 times throughout the video, which is a rate slightly under once every 23 seconds.
Levy last video: "Why is chess is hard one of my dialogue lines? I literally never say that!" Levy this video: "Ladies and gentlemen, chess is hard."

Really great advice! I just scored 87% percent instead of my average winning of 72% It was great because they played the modern defense against me and I knew everything that they wanted. I will continue to think about this.
