I'm no expert and it might be common knowledge but it did strike me that Magnus putting tons of stats in the endgame meant he just has an immensely powerful ace up his sleeve. If he thinks the position is getting out of hand he can work toward simplifying into what is likely a draw but that he has an advantage in. Even if it's a 5% advantage the worst case is a draw and he just gets a return on EV. If true its really clever since a draw doesn't hurt and if he can become good enough at forcing drawish endgame he's like an immovable object.
Just something I've been thinking about.
Eventually people will start solving him since he's got the biggest target. I think he'll take a championship or two off and then come back at a marketable moment.
Not to mention that (like certain MMA fighters) defeating the same opponent isn't worth as much as a new one and losing to someone you beat is scary from a risk reward point of view.
We end up with the best of both worlds except Magnus doesn't potentially lose much shine and can just claim boredom for not going out there and making a bunch of money for the "easy" win.

By seing these recaps it is possible to notice how good is Magnus. Nepo and Ding, every time they lost, they faced equals but dificult positions and they started to make mistakes/inaccuracies after a couple of moves since they entered the position.
I do not think none of these players would have defeated Magnus… it seems their middle game is not so accurate

Magnus stepping away is akin to CCC doing the same. In chess we get Nepo vs Ding in MMA we got Figueiredo vs Moreno. Two fighters that where stifled by DJ and when there was the vacancy we got to see fireworks.
