Ouroboros King Part 1 – an incredibly well-made chess roguelike that takes the best parts of chess and improves them with unique pieces and upgrades. There’s been a lot of good chess-likes lately, and I’m here for it!

I'm sure somebody has pointed out but the 17:30 situation is that if andromeda moves then black loses because the fool would then take king. Killing nobles indeed.

Since you're playing so many chess games, you should try out this really cool spin on chess called "Pawnbarian", it's a very interesting chess style game where you draw chess pieces as cards and move or attack with them depending on what they are, it's very interesting and there are multiple different unique enemies and classes to play as, I bet you'd like it!

Btw there is another chess roguelike called pawnbarian which I've tried and it's not too bad but it's really strange to play.

every time a move is made i pause the video and squint at the screen until ive figured out what just happened
this game looks interesting, but the AI in this video seemed completely overwhelmed by spiked shield.

At 17:30 the reason Andromeda didn't take was because after your fool recaptures, the Agent X would not actually be able to take your Pegasus. If it did, the Fool would gain the movement of a Bishop, allowing it to take the black King.

5:00 actually I think it went down twice into the portal below and thus went out of the portal to the left of your rook. The onscreen description for the Viking doesn’t say it can move diagonally and as you found out immediately after, the game doesn’t show the process of portal moves—only their results.
it would be better if they animated the added move like animated the move to the portal first then after they go through the portal, or like a pegasus that has 2 L move. it'll make the game look more refined and pleasing to look. and it will make the game a lot less confusing when they introduce a complex piece to the board.
The amount of times I had to rewind this to understand haha

I feel like the spiked shield is way too strong, the AI literally can't handle it. It allows too many easy checkmates because the king can't take, and the AI is too scared to trade for it.
