Me thinks Hans should be fully reinstated with prejudice and signed from all big parts, Magnus included.
If Hans, now older and possibly wiser, cheats again, in any way, his chess career as GM should be definitely ending there. But I personally don't think there are enough reasons to blockade him further, and magnus should stop bitching, while I respect him beyond measure as a chess player, I wouldn't be happy if he continued with this "I won't play if he's here", at least until further proof, cheating is a huge problem for chess but that doesn't mean we can treat people, whoever it is, like garbage.
Levy mentioned other sports, but I don't think that is a good way of seeing it, each field has its own rules and in Chess, due to cheating being a huge plague, it's justified to ban someone if they are shown to cheat online, the mentality behind it is something that warrants big steps. My point is still that he should be granted a second chance this time, for the good of chess, and if he does something stupid again, out indefinitely from any site, the chess world should be united in just this.
That's my irrelevant opinion.
And Magnus? He threw a fit like a toddler, said he knew Hans cheated but offered zero evidence, and ruined a player's reputation. When this kicked off, Levy was the only person who suggested this could be problematic behavior if no explanation was offered. Its a shame the case got thrown out and we never got any worthwhile statements from him. Good luck to the next underdog that beats him; it might cost you your career.
