I play chess probably 5-8 hours a day skipping doing hw and ignoring teachers in class to play it and it is paying off, I have gone from 450 elo to 750 elo in less than 2 months

For new players, I wouldn't try to learn an entire main-line first. I would instead try to learn how to adapt to the position that I'm in because that would be a bit more useful against newer players. Then you start to learn openings and mainlines.
