Ben Finegold the other day featured a game where white had the choice between Ke2# vs. O-O-O# and either of those has got to be more satisfying than smothered mate

Wrong, the smoothest mate is with an en passant.

nothing is more sastifying then en pasant mate

Wouldn't the most famous move in chess history be Frank Marshall's "gold coins" queen sac?

I thought the most recent chess rule was they decided you could not do a forward castle, as in e8=R followed by O-O-O-O-O-O-O

Imagine Hans Neimann doing this. I can already see his answers.

Q1: Is king safety the most important?
    Hans: Chess speaks for itself.
Q2: What is more valuable, bishop or knight?
    Hans: Chess speaks for itself.
Q3: What opening do you recommend for each color?
    Hans: Chess speaks for itself.
Q4: Does chess speak for itself?
    Hans: Chess speaks for itself.

15:22 can you imagine being the guy who made the sign for the what turned out to be the greatest match of all time, but forgetting the S and having to add it with a sharpie lol

This Levy guy seems to know a lot about chess, he might be 300 elo some day

Giveaway Chess aka Suicide Chess where you purposely try to lose as many pieces as possible and try to have your last piece taken

I don't know if it will go down as the most famous chess move, but Ding Liren Rg6 was incredible and won him the world championship.

"then i lost to a bunch of nine year olds" relatable

Nah most satisfying mate is en passant mate.

did he stare in the camera for a second before talking

Off topic, but this shirt is super dope!!

I’m 35, my chess homie is 32, we meet up every Sunday at noon at a public park and play for a couple of hours. It’s so pleasant

Pffff smothered mate is the most satisfying? What about castling mate? Or En Passant mate?

the chessbot explanation was not great. in particular you dont need powerful servers to have a bot that beats you

    13:00
Wasn't the ability of pawns being able to move 2 squares instead of 1 a "new" rule?

most satisfying checkmate would be an en passant double check checkmate

For notation, it would’ve been great to also cover other things like all the pieces’ letters (though that one’s a bit straightforward), how capturing works and also the weird emoji-looking thingy used for castling.

I guess it’s just a matter of editing choices in the video there. What surprised me is that the explanation that was kept was surprisingly interesting and comprehensive! But only… about a rather specific part of the question. Nerd-sniped me, sure, but maybe didn’t go over all the basics.

Does Stockfish blunder is an interesting question given that we actually use Stockfish to evaluate if something is a blunder

If Levy changes gender, would he be the strongest WGM?

this guy is interesting. He should stop slacking and make a youtube channel

i can't believe Levy called out Hans like that on wired. it's too funny haha

600AD – “I would know because I was there.” This is why your channel is so successful. Light self deprecating humor alongside game changing insights. Haha.

Everyone knows the best chess move is the Tennison gambit's ICBM variation

I'm guessing it's too late to ask this question, but I hope the comments can enlighten me.
Since computers and engines have been introduced into chess, have there been any openings/techniques that were discovered by computers?
Openings like the Sicilian, Caro-Kann, London, etc. were all founded by people who greatly studied chess. Have there ever been discoveries made by the computer?

I would watch so many of these. MAKE MORE!!!
