Interesting way to defend for sure…..maybe even win! 🙂

I hit 1100 today 😎 1100 right on the dot. I had plot armor all week. I flagged, I swindled draws, the opponents sold more games than I am able to understand… but we got there! 🎉

I used to play the Albin a lot after getting frustrated by lots of QG games. The highlight was a win in 12 moves in a zone final. That was when I truly realised the potency of opening tricks.

Thank you my friend always plays the queens gambit

4:58 Not sure why that's a fine position for black. White does have a weak pawn in the center, but they're even on value and black is farther behind on development.

John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Please continues with The Queens Gambit plans series 🙏🏼

That draw was clever! (and certainly frustrating for White)

wow magnus must've watched this before going against hikaru

Thanks again Nelson for another instructive video. You are one of my favorites to watch on YouTube.

1:00 what if later that white turn have play E3, first?

I'm 1800 and this still holds up, not the best but if you really know your stuff they're gonna have a difficult time

7:33 what if white bishop to D2 preparation for casteling the king with an rook on left side king?

Thumbnail be like:hmm yes knights move diagonally.

I play this opening! I've only had one person fall into the Lasker Trap, but even when they don't, it gives me fun positions.

One other interesting fact about the Albin Countergambit is that it has a very famous (albeit fictional) user: Vasily Borgov uses it in his final game against Beth Harmon in The Queen's Gambit. Of course, she doesn't fall for the tricks!!!

Oh no Nelson, I always play the QGambit and almost always win because nobody on my level has any idea what to do with the opening. Now I gotta be careful with that lady attack

Isn't this video close to a complete copy to an old GothamChess video about the same opening , but you included the drawing line? Because that's the only new idea i've noticed

u forgot about if white plays cxd5

Nelson please mention one of the most common respomse to this gambit: In the white's 3rd move, white play cxd5, white say you did not capture my c pawn, so I am going to capture your d pawn and continue my original game plan. What should black do?

I’ve been playing the queens gambit as white for years, and I almost always get a better position than black when they play this. It’s very simple to learn how to play against this countergambit, and I win most the games.

I started playing the albin countergambit a few years ago when I was 1200. I’m now 1800 and have played thousands of games in this time. Only 3 times has white fallen for the trap. It’s incredibly rare that it actually works, and when it doesn’t work it is very difficult to figure out what to do, and you will lose most games.

As an 1800 rated queens gambit player, the most annoying openings for me are the Austrian variation and Budapest gambit. I would recommend these if you’re looking to annoy white.

As a queen’s gambit player, i’ve been wondering what black was trying to achieve with this – I’ve always just played e3 as my instinctive response to this – then it’s pretty much always exd4 exd4 and it just opens up the e file, which is fine

When white, I tend to do the queen's gambit because I hate the lines that happen kingpawn. As white, if they do the countergambit, what is the best move for white?

This opening is the most powerful gambit! One mis-step from white can make them fall down to the abyss.

I literally just lost to the queen's gambit then youtube recommends me this

Actually, according to lichess database the most common move is nf3, not e3. Also, just playing a3 after black defends the pawn after nf3 stops all traps..

Unluclily at my 1400 level havent seen QG for ages

watching this because I love to play the queens gambit as white

    I have a puzzle request.
    White to draw

    5k2/2R5/5N2/8/8/8/2ppp2K/8

This only works if he moves his queen pawn up most the time he won't

Understand now when I was learning my head used to hurt

The bishop skewer is called the Lasker trap

Unfortunately this seems to work only for chess players who don’t know what they are doing. I’m playing the computer on difficulty level 4 out of 10 and this never turns out. These videos assume a lot of specific moves and not all of the possible other moves that completely dismantle this approach.

In your video at the minute 4.35, after black queen Qe4, I think white should play Qf3,BxB+, NxB, and black Q exchange or take back the pawn in e5. White winning tempo after black Q move several time. F column open for white and white will be better. I think
