The 2023 FIDE World Cup is a 206-player knockout taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan from July 30 to August 24. The prize fund is almost $1.9m, with $110,000 for the winner, while the top 3 players also qualify for the 2024 Candidates Tournament. The top 50 players, who include world nos 1-3 Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamaura and Fabiano Caruana, are seeded directly into Round 2. Each match consists of two classical games where the players have 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment from move 1. If tied, a playoff will be held on the 3rd day. There are two 25+10 rapid games followed, if needed, by two 10+10 games, then two 5+3 games. If still tied, the players then play single 3+2 games until a player wins. No draw offers are allowed until after move 30

@Corteum9000 @SLIKE @Tony Stack All haters in the chat saying Prag can't eliminate Fabi can suck it.

2028, world championship would be Gukesh Vs Pragg.

Pragg OP, Don Sagar OP…Future shah predicted this..

4:47:24 if anybody could beat Magnus that was Fabi, in classical now that he is out Magnus would surely win the world cup. kudos to Prag

Brazil was cheering a lot for Pragg from the br-portuguese channel Raffael Chess 🎉🎉🎉 It's the eye of the tiger,
It's the thrill of the fight,
Rising up to the challenge of our rival 🎉🎉🎉

Sagar bhai vo international vala chess aata he na jo ye GMs khelte he vo kharidna he vo kaha se purchase kare?

Amazing playing from Pragg and kudos to Sagar bhai for covering the entire match for so many hours with the same energy from the first minute to last… Hats off to you… All d best to prag for the final…

Thanks! I started following chess World Cup for first time and your commentary makes it exciting.

++ helping chess community and put India forward at world stage is incredible so would like to be part of it in every way possible.

Now magnus needs to be very focus and magnus has to bring his A game.

Pragg op ! !he can defeat magnus!!!!!

#24 for gaming. Let’s freaking goooooo!!!

Praggnanda reaches final to meet Magnus Carlsen.

If Pragg beats carlsen in classical format(low probability) even a single game then i think magnus may consider taking part in candidates

    ഈജമ്പുള്ളി ദാമു 禁 says:

Bro when pragg vs carlsen? Exact time plz?

The only problem for this kid is until now he was facing human beings but next round he will be facing stockfish in classical chess.. 😢😢😂😂
    RIP in advance.

The prize pool is 2 million euros
    60% for 1st place, 40% for 2nd place
Inr 11 crores approx for 1st place and 7.25 crores for 2nd place. Wrongly mentioned in the live

    World #3 down
    World #2 down
But don't forget World #1 defeated World #2 to #9 in a single day in a row in a streak.

I am not a fan of chess but I'm a die-hard supporter of our players. Caruana, upon being asked about Gukesh, sounded really unsure whether he posed a challenge to the top five. Mr Caruana, how do you feel losing to Pragg who's ranked 31? Okay, if I've made a mistake on the precise rankings, I'm happy to say I'm wrong. This message is about the underestimation of Indian talent. Nothing else.

What sets Prag apart is his ability to bounce back. In the classic games and his first rapid game, Pragg's position initially was weak. But, he showed incredible resilience and held the position to a draw. In the tie break, he showed his ability to convert his advantage to a win. Kudos Prag. Like magnus, Pragg has a great positional sense. But, I think he could work on his opening theories to become stronger.

P.S Hikaru would be feeling better. He is not alone now, as he has Fabi to give him company.

23rd gonna be a big day for India and a long one for those who study current affairs.

The cup is coming home🥳🥳 lessgo praggg!!
